Hi I am new to this game. I am just wondering, can we/will we get to lease airplanes from manufacturer? It will be nice to be able to lease some bigger airplanes for expansion although we don't have $40mil to buy some bigger planes. If this is already in place, how do I lease planes? Thanks!

Be nice to see it though, as it represents reality in the industry.

or being able to lease aircrafts from other players will be cool too... some of the top players are buying a few airbuses every month!!

i think it would be a great idea, i don't have much money and it would be good... why do they have it on the finances when it isn't on the game?????

Yea... isn't leasing more realistic? only the big airlines actually OWN a massive fleet right?

That would be really great if that was implicated it would help so many of the small airlines and even some of the big ones

Well, most airlines around the world probably own 20-30% of their fleet and perhaps lease the rest, so it doesnt leave them exposed greatly to depreciation charges on the accounting books. Also, not every airline has big amounts of cash just to purchase all aircraft outright either, so leasing is a vast part of the aircraft market.

Though, in AE... we been waiting for this for ages, trust me :)

Do any of the developers have a projected time of implementation for Aircraft Leasing? I am sure a lot of people are looking forward to this feature :D

In real life most airlines start by leasing, though not directly from the manufacturer but from other companies like GECAS or IFLC or other airlines. Many important airlines lease from GECAS and IFLC, also there should be an option to wet lease or dry lease.

As this is not "real life" leasing will be done from the manufacturer , at least in the beginning.

The leasing is wet leasing i.e with crew etc as all planes have crew in AE. There are no options to choose crew in game.

I'll let the developers answer this but maybe in a few years we can have all these micro managment features people are suggesting but at this time it's just not feasable / possible.

I'm not sure that alot of people who play this game realise just how much work it is to code all these things.

Trust me, I know how complicated it is (I've seen coding for bank databases and the accounts). And I wasn't suggesting the thing, I was just saying how it is on real life (so people get informed). Then again we don't use crew management, so it is not likely that we can do something about the different leases.

How about leasing feature from other players?

Like the Used Market, have an option of Lease Market, and people post up their airplanes with lets say certain conditions, and people who want to lease have the option to counter offer?
