Sim 2 went directly to Oct 24th and then removed all excess gates 1 hr after changeov

Something is messed up in Sim 2. I didn't notice until just now that Sim2 went directly to October 24th rather than the 1st at the month change over. 1 hour after the changeover it removed all unused gates thinking that it was rolling over to the next month.

Its still on October 24th now, anyone know what's going on ?

I noticed that either and all the gates that I just bought are gone. I think I have the right to have them back, as it were last gates in the game.:sniff:
And will never be able again to get them back.

The problem is that everyone who just bought gates before the month change and didn't use them in the first hour after changeover lost them. The gate warning came after September 24th and when it jumped right to October 24th the gate removal happened as the game thought we'd had a full month to use the gates already. As much as I'd like it too, the task of restoring everyone's lost gates has to be pretty big so I'm not counting on it.

The finance page is messed up too, its showing revenues that are the first day's operations x24. I'm afraid that its going to charge gate and hub fees every hour until this is fixed.

Ya something strange is definately happening. I lost a gate at Portland (not a big deal) but i only have 11 million dollars and by the midnight today i forcased to have had 50-60 million. At this point i will fall well short of that. I dont think i will be ordering any aircraft until this problem is fixed. It may double my debts.

I call for a reset, lost 20+ gates and got big time into debt. Dont have money to replace them and had to put new planes on silly routes. Darn and this was my first time in top 10.

Everyone will loose money by the hour anyway. As fish already said in his post: Every one is charged by the hour for his hubs and gates, without any money coming in. By twelve most of the players with hubs will loose a lot of money including me, and I am doubting if I should close my hubs or not, just to avoid to loose more money.

If this is fixed or the game is paused soon then a reset is hardly needed. The bug is affecting every single player in the game. This is something that everyone can still recover from, perhaps we all loose a day of productivity but with everything else going fairly well loosing 1 or 2 days to recover from the mixup seems a lot easier than starting from scratch.

That depends. Some players did not loose anything but the gate and hub charges that are occurring, others like myself where left with 6 planes and no gates (lost almost 20 or so) for them, those gates where some of the last for their airports, i have more than 130 mil in debt and by the time i am out of the red those gates will surely be gone...

Ok at this point it isnt every hour anymore its like every 20 mins i'm going down. I'm keeping track of the time and i went from 7 million at 1:50 pm to 4 million at 2pm to now -4 million at 2:15pm.


NVM it was a month change.

Not even a year and people are already calling for a reset. Just tough it out. I lost gates I just got at BOS, LAX, and PVG. Already somebody has gotten these gates but I'll manage. Everybody that got gates has been affected the same so it doesn't put you at a major disadvantage to others since we're all in the same boat.

However since time is messed up and all, this might keep happening. I think the game needs to be paused and fixed more than anything else. I'm not even to my conservative $175 million MOP by end year 1 but I still want to play having gotten through the hardest part of starting up.

Has it been fixed because i'm not in debt anymore...for now

It seems the clock is running again. Unfortunatly without returning of the gates but indeed, as aerospaceiar said, we have to manage as it would be quite bad if we have to start all over again. I only would like to be sure of one thing? Will I not loose the gates again, that I just bought, end of this month again? :puzzled:

I guess this could be an added feature. Random destruction of Airports and maybe planes? Airspace shut down for a while but gate charges remain etc... Bring Nature and Politics into the game.
No seriously I got bummed out when i logged in today but i agree to continue this round and see it as a challenge rather than a spoil. Great Game so far.

I got a message back from Miller about it while I was out. Sounds like he's on top of it to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Sim2 is BETA - Miller and a developer are looking at major improvements, if there is to be any issues that do effect this beta testing they will announce this, at time the game may need advancing to see if the system took alterations, I would ***ume this is the problem why all advanced and lost holding gates.

However, only Miller and the developers will know exactly.

I have trouble beliving that you'll never recover. A reset is hardly necessary. If this hurt you so bad then declare bankruptcy and start from $5mil with 2 beech's. Just reset yourself, everyone else is able to recover. The declare bankruptcy is in your administration screen.

EDIT: Ok, I looked at your airline (you posted your id in another post elsewhere in the forum). You're right, if you're $20 mil in debt you'll never recover. You need to declare bankruptcy and start over. I'll give you a helpful hint, you're operating entirely too many cities with 4 Beecn's. Those are short range low capacity aircraft. Your gate leasing expenses in September when the game was normal is 50% of your total monthly revenue, that's WAY too much especially for a starting airline.
