Hi,

I've been trying a few times to start up an airline but I haven’t had any success. I can barely find profitable routes, never mind trying to break-even or save up money to buy a third plane. What can I do?

Thanks,

Wait until the game is reset (less competition). Sim 2 resets this weekend. No idea on sim 1.

Yes, best bet for the time being is that u perhaps just wait for a reset (sim2 happening this weekend!!) and also just get urself used to the game before the reset, thus making it much easier to get used to once the reset begins. :D

But after the reset, how do I make money? The routes I'm flying on right now have no competition and I still can't make money...Will I ever be able to afford a third or fourth (and hopefully bigger) plane?

when the reset occurs, everyone will only have 2 beeches or bae's... so they will be on par with you... also the routes wont have anybody on them... so you will be able to make routes....

Well, focus on routes that are between good sized airports. It depends where u start aswell, because depending on the airport, it will determine the profit on the routes. Also, just be careful with buying gates at certain airports which u may not be familiar with, especially in sim2, which may make u lose money on those routes. Some routes will need a strong hub effect to start making money after a while.

Its just about using some commonsense and approach the game with a degree of caution. Everyone can make money and keep growing.
