I went to open my first route in sim 2 and opened the route with the automatic pricing off. It is showing that i have used 2 gates, yet i wasn't flying any routes. I have 6 gates with 1 spare slot according to the gate screen, but i am only flying 19 freqs. When i used the automatic pricing i was able to open the routes without a problem, but it is still showing me with the extra full gates.

ATL-MCO. I got it too.
In almost every world, I use the airline "Alto Airlines" unless I don't feel like it

I've got the same issue. I set up MCO-FLL for 5 frequencies with the auto-pricing off and the I got an error message. It locked up the 5 slots at both airports, but no route was created.
With the auto-pricing turned on, it worked great!
One other issue: I selected the B1900D, but was given the J-31 instead. Not a big issue, but a little surprising to see when I got in.

I also had the option of buying 2 Beech 1900Ds [without cheating or pulling a KaaiElEm (which still isn't cheating)]

Well, im in the same boat as well. Used up the 5 slots at both TPA and FLL and 10 slots @ MCO, yet the Beech 1900D is showing 22 hrs remaining to use, which isnt true.
Though, as nibbles, didnt click on the auto pricing function, thus once i clicked create route, some mysql error (or whatever showed up) appeared above the "route created" on the following loaded page.

Why is it that some airlines managed to get it working? Now I can't evern declare bankruptcy as the gates are "in use" and can't be returned

I havent got it working. I just made sure all my routes from that point included the auto-resetter on the route and put the aircraft i used in the beginning on another route while this problem gets sorted, so i wasnt losing money.
But i understand ur point, in that u cant even declare bankruptcy, since u cant return the gates use since u know ur flying the routes, but cant delete the route.

Forgive me for asking this question...where the hell is the "turn on auto-pricing" button?

Route -> Change ticket price - > Above the revenue calculator for the route

It is on the screen where you set price and frequency on a new route.

I'm also having gate issues. Tried starting MSP-ORD; gates & slots used but aircraft still showed 22 hrs. available. I even listed both aircraft for sale, but still didn't get the gates and slots back. Any help would be appreciated.
