The big change will be to the pricing. In a nutshell, if it all works you will have the option to hire a Revenue Management Vice President. He will watch all of your routes, and update the prices as necessary to guarantee they're making as much revenue as they possibly can. You set the aircraft, cities, and frequencies, and he'll set the price. Hopefully with this, the days of spending loads of time to update your fares will be over, not to mention the benefit of a reduced server load.
I still have not yet decided whether or not I will make this mandatory for all players, or if you will still have the choice to set your fares. A hybrid solution could allow you to adjust your fares relative to the average. For instance, you could either let your VP handle it for the highest revenue, or you could set it to be anywhere between -50% and +50% of the average price on that route.
The goal with all of this is to eliminate the $1 a route players, and streamline the game to make it more enjoyable for the players.
Thoughts on the new system are always appreciated. I'm dedicated to bringing AE back to the sim the players want to play, and your comments are the ony way to do this.

So this means that the Sim 2 will work more like the real world? If it is a success, I would want to try it in Sim 1 if you ever integrate it into there.
If you read some posts in another thread sim2 will become sim1. No updates are expected anymore in sim1.

Well, Miller did mention
I've closed sim2 and will be updating it all weekend. If everything goes as planned, I will be re-opening the next version of the game on Sunday evening, December 16.
So if everything goes well, a new fresh start for everyone on the 16th

Nice to see you have dedicated time to regain the Airline Sim loss ground.
Would be nice to try stop the flow of bogus accounts with a revamp of the regestration - login and access to the sim.
Banning Public emails will or would be a step in the correct direction.
Efforts to stop the overcrowding, resulting in massive plonks of A330's and 747's with $1 journey is welcome.
Like any new idea, Beta Testing before launching the product would also be an idea, I am sure there would be a few addits of this game who will sit up 24/7 to test any new avenue you may take.
Most important Courtney is keeping the players within the sim informed, vanishing acts didnt go down too well with a lot of the players who have been in AE from Year 1.
(Just my feelings - Please do not take it personal)

The only problem is, I was about 5 years into it, and was just getting established! Lol.
Was just finished enhancing my regional fleet, and was about to start on my short-haul fleet.

All well, more opportunity! Can't wait 'til it's back up tomorrow!
