****FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE****
Juan Trippe, founder of the loose JT Alliance movement is bidding farewell.
JT: After some consideration, I have determined that my original movement has gone astray and I am formally leaving your game, bidding farewell, and leaving you all to your own devices. I urge all of those acting and posting under the Juan Trippe name (a growing number it seems) to leave the Juan Trippe name out of your postings, and cease your activities immediately.
My movement was originally initiated on the forum last round in order to expose cheating by some of the larger players. I STAND BY THAT ACCUSATION.
Australis and some members of the WAA were at the forefront of this cheating. Their gate hogging was no secret and very visible to all. What wasn’t so visible was also their use of several feeder airlines to increase gate tallies at terminal limited airports, most notably DCA and MDW. Avant can attest to what was taking place at DCA last round. In the case of DCA, we were seeing upwards of 30 gates appearing, well beyond anything that could have been “purchased”. As a result of my posts, Australis exercised his moderator powers and banned me from the forum. So much for speaking out.
You should all know that Australis somehow has the admin codes to shutdown carriers in the AE game. I don’t know how this is the case, but in one instance he was emailing threatening a shutdown to me, and moments later gates were gone, aircraft were gone, and cash was negative. He seems unable to ban an airline or prevent a bankruptcy filing (as Miller can do), and never uses a “query”. I urge Miller to change the access codes if he’s entrusted them to Australis at some point in the past. Australis also uses this ability to shutdown “inactive” carriers prematurely when he’s competing with them. This is largely the advantage he always seems to have in terms of revenue. When an airline departs a run, the remaining player’s loadfactor often shoots to 100%. Yet another bug to add to the long list.
Finally, there has been much talk on the forum of “hacking” the AE server. I CAN ASSURE YOU I HAVE DONE NOTHING OF THE SORT! All of the methods I have employed have been through the normal confines of the AE game environment, and I wouldn’t have the faintest idea of how to tamper with codes or servers. This game has potential, but it is full of bugs – constant and frustrating resetting, the LF bug, feeder airlines, the F5 refresh bug, etc., etc., etc. The server seems to do a good job of crashing on its own, and any claims of responsibility from any of “us” was akin to a poker bluff. I find it interesting too, that few of the large gate runs we’ve seen lately have had anything to do with me. Rather, its clear that players are protecting their own hubs once this F5 bug was public, so shame on each of you.
In any case, I do not see any indication from Miller that any of the many problems or bugs of this game are to be fixed anytime soon, and most certainly never intended to run players off to Steven’s game. I just wanted the game to get fixed, and it still doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Farewell and good luck.
