Players,

I have enclosed a copy FYI of the letter that has been despatched via Mail / Email to Miller.

My and his name and contact details have been removed for security

Trust this works to give the game some stability

Evening Courtney,

Trusting this brief letter finds you and the family in good sprit and health

Whilst myself, not playing this round of AE it is like a ritual that one reads the forums and look into the comings and goings of the game from time to time.

Hacking of the gate numbers has been on-going a lot of late, one player or players/s has managed to cause such mayhem to disrupt the workings of the game that it is impossible for the game to continue.

Regrettably, massive numbers of players have since vacated the game, a shame as AE still is rated one of the best Airline Sims around.

Your assistance to visit the sim1 is much appreciated and to check the massive gate numbers this/or/more hackers have caused.

Suspending the game registrations’ and actions to prevent further happenings would be much appreciated.

You may obtain more relevant information from Kris or other moderators which will shed light onto the timeline.

Kind regards

Watchdog

No Need: The message was recieved today
****FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE****

Juan Trippe, founder of the loose JT Alliance movement is bidding farewell.

JT: After some consideration, I have determined that my original movement has gone astray and I am formally leaving your game, bidding farewell, and leaving you all to your own devices. I urge all of those acting and posting under the Juan Trippe name (a growing number it seems) to leave the Juan Trippe name out of your postings, and cease your activities immediately.

My movement was originally initiated on the forum last round in order to expose cheating by some of the larger players. I STAND BY THAT ACCUSATION.

Australis and some members of the WAA were at the forefront of this cheating. Their gate hogging was no secret and very visible to all. What wasn’t so visible was also their use of several feeder airlines to increase gate tallies at terminal limited airports, most notably DCA and MDW. Avant can attest to what was taking place at DCA last round. In the case of DCA, we were seeing upwards of 30 gates appearing, well beyond anything that could have been “purchased”. As a result of my posts, Australis exercised his moderator powers and banned me from the forum. So much for speaking out.

You should all know that Australis somehow has the admin codes to shutdown carriers in the AE game. I don’t know how this is the case, but in one instance he was emailing threatening a shutdown to me, and moments later gates were gone, aircraft were gone, and cash was negative. He seems unable to ban an airline or prevent a bankruptcy filing (as Miller can do), and never uses a “query”. I urge Miller to change the access codes if he’s entrusted them to Australis at some point in the past. Australis also uses this ability to shutdown “inactive” carriers prematurely when he’s competing with them. This is largely the advantage he always seems to have in terms of revenue. When an airline departs a run, the remaining player’s loadfactor often shoots to 100%. Yet another bug to add to the long list.

Finally, there has been much talk on the forum of “hacking” the AE server. I CAN ASSURE YOU I HAVE DONE NOTHING OF THE SORT! All of the methods I have employed have been through the normal confines of the AE game environment, and I wouldn’t have the faintest idea of how to tamper with codes or servers. This game has potential, but it is full of bugs – constant and frustrating resetting, the LF bug, feeder airlines, the F5 refresh bug, etc., etc., etc. The server seems to do a good job of crashing on its own, and any claims of responsibility from any of “us” was akin to a poker bluff. I find it interesting too, that few of the large gate runs we’ve seen lately have had anything to do with me. Rather, its clear that players are protecting their own hubs once this F5 bug was public, so shame on each of you.

In any case, I do not see any indication from Miller that any of the many problems or bugs of this game are to be fixed anytime soon, and most certainly never intended to run players off to Steven’s game. I just wanted the game to get fixed, and it still doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Farewell and good luck.

That is a lot to digest. A lot of it has to do with whoever this is not knowing what they are talking about or knowing how AE works. And it is a little discouraging that he brings up Steven's game. Does this mean this person is also over there causing trouble or was it intentionally done to drive people away?

This has just shown proven the known vulnerablilities within AE need to be taken care of. Registration needs to be fixed and updated so no one can have multiple airlines. Rules need to be made and agreed to before creating an airline (Terms of Use). The F5 and multiple window issues need to be corrected for all parts of AE (not just ordering aircraft). Being able to operate one aircraft on all 5,000+ gates need to be looked at as well. AE needs some serious attention on the developer side. No use in doing any research on airports or aircraft pricing unless the current issues are fixed.

I am hoping that the Juan Trippe "farewell" is in part due to some actions that I have taken in the past week. Since Courtney is not around and not responding to e-mails I have taken the liberty of reporting Juan Trippe's actions to a couple of different organizations as in interested third party. The first place I went to was Excite. His forum account used an email address from them, so I filed a complaint against him and informed Excite of his current and past actions. Also, I filed a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center or IC3. Not only did I provide them with the email address, but also the known IP addresses that he ever used to log in to the forums with. Hope that will get something started. We have all the proof needed for a good case with the number of threatening messages that have been received.

Anything he is doing is not to do with AM Management, as you may see we have a very large player base and driving people away from other games is not something I condone.

The AirlineMogul staff and admins have had no involvement in this, and do not condone any such actions. Furthermore, we are having issues with cheating on our own site, and will be glad to assist in the procurement of "Juan Trippe" if any similar behavior occurs on our website. It is however concerning that he would mention the AirlineMogul site, and we will remain vigilant and attempt to thwart his efforts.

Steven's game. Does this mean this person is also over there causing trouble or was it intentionally done to drive people away?

Shame the sim's have split up with a mass exit of this original sim to other new formed sim's then again miller is a fault for not attending to some concerns the players.

If miller was to respond towards the games performance players would remain.
