Volaris Airways, a new start-up airline in Milan, Italy, has commenced service with two Raytheon Beechcraft 1900D airliners. The company is aiming to create a friendly, low cost airline for Europe to enjoy.

Currently, the airline has a base in Milan, Italy (LIN Airport) and flies to several destinations:
-Barcelona, Spain
-Marseille, France
-Vienna, Austria
-Zurich, Switzerland

Volaris also has plans to order ATR aircraft in the near future, with a mix of ATR 42-500s and ATR 72-500s to use on major routes, such as London, Berlin, or Paris.

Volaris Airways' CEO Richard DiPalma has announced four new routes for the airline, as well as the closure of two other routes.

The airline has also invested in a used Raytheon Beech 1900D airliner to be used on some of these routes. The new airliner has been placed on two routes; Milan to Rome and Milan to Paris Orly.

Other routes that have been added to Volaris' collection include Milan to London (Luton), and Milan to Lyon, although Milan to Marseille and Milan to Vienna have been dropped.

Volaris' CEO stated that he hopes to order the new ATR 42-500 or ATR 72-500 aircraft to use on the London and Paris routes
