I'm rather new to the game but felt I been growing at a pretty good pace and learning. Lately I've had an airline called Ajax Air move into all my long-haul markets with much higher prices and leave me with 0%. If I leave and come back to the market I can't enter it unless I take a huge loss.

How is this possible? Is Ajax Air "activating" this bug I see people referring to all over these forums?

What is the "bug"? How does one "activate" it? (no I don't intend to go using it, I just would like to see if there is a way to counter these activities).

It's not a bug!

Ajax Air has stong hubs and is therefore able to command higher fares. Basically all your passengers are flocking to her airline, there is very little you can do as it survival of the fitest as is so much the case in real life.

There is no way to 'Activate' the bug, it's not really a bug, Ajax Air is one of the best in AE, the reason they can have such high prices is because they have hubs, AEpeople are more likely to travel with Hubbed airlines than non-hubbed airlines, it's just the way that AE is, live with it,

EDIT: Glennos, you beat me to it, :P

Hey, I was just asking a question?
I see tons and tons of posts of people talking about "activating" a bug and moving into areas with overpriced flights and somehow getting 100%. I did notice that Ajax had a hub - however it seemed unlikely that people would flock in droves to a double priced airline just cause they have a hub - but apparently I have a lot to learn in this game.

scared me to death when I saw this post... It's not much fun to be "accused" of activating bug... Okay.. understand that you don't know much about AE works. Next time please... don't call me in the title... just ask other people...
I'm not mad or something... it's okay

But if you are in top 10, people will look at you if you are doing it all nice...

Btw.... what is your airline, and which airport are you based?

im sure TW and miller would know if No 2 airline was cheating lol

Yeah... Sure do... after 24 hours offline seeing your DOP fall down at least 20M is not much fun!!!! the bug is annoying... but you have to live with that... I do...

And let me tell you this...
I have NEVER cheated before and I won't do that in future... All results of number 2 in ranking is just hard working, and setting the best strategy...

Orlando is a massive strong hub... and therefore I can make a lot of high prices, just like other people told before me...

Having read all the comments and this original post, if I may I would like to make a few points clear to all players (New and Old)

1. You asked about this (BUG)?

(A) It is a known bug that is activated when the LF is 0% and another leaves the route setting off the balance of the players getting 100% return no matter what their price is.

2. You attacked Ajax directly,

How is this possible? Is Ajax Air "activating"

would it not be better to ask this player why or post in the forum your concerns before starting a war against other players?

3. So you do understand this game more the reason a player makes a hub / terminal and gains the market share within that location is a direct result of the higher prices.

(Example) On large city airports with much PAX, the price one is able to command is reflected in their market share of that location - If you hold 5% and the top player within this location holds 50% their price will be close to DOUBLE your ticket price. Lesser locations do not gain such a higher ticket price but the end result is the same.

4. Just would like to know TWO things

(A) what City are you talking about that Ajax is charging this stated claim pricing?

(:P what is the name of your airline????

regardless, welcome to the forum and I hope you take my comments as constructive and not an attack against you :D

But his aircraft still eat up 'load' on those routes from honest players.

AE aint perfect...I remember last round a few airlines where they had the same situation and killed loads on asian routes...think the name was Air Dinosat. Was a pain to deal with...but bearable.
