Less competitors definatly. I was battling with X-Flyer for STN since the start of this round, it was always about 50/50 at around 9% each. Then i just bought loads of Q400s and flown them on every european route.

I'm going to move for the next round. I just don't know where yet. The city I'm in now is good, but I think a little larger metro area might just be the trick.

This round, ive had 4 airports, 3 ive been to, 1 i chose cause of location. Tokyo Narita, Seattle, and Orlando were chosen cause I've been to those cities and I love em (I live in orlando). Zurich was chosen cause of two main reasons: One I liked the name, and Two it was a central location in Europe and made it an ideal spot for a central european hub with a good amount feed from the city itself. Shame Ajax trashed it...

By all means, my primary descion of where to be based is on city size. Second is competition-why I like the West Coast and Hawaii. For me, basing it on where I live would be downright stupid. As for cheap gates, that's why I don't choose certian cities.

Well, I suppose that depends largely on what your objective for AE is. I for one simply want to build a great NZ airline, I want to be market leader in New Zealand, simulating that great (albeit unrealistic) dream of mine to build a new international NZ airline (not that I dislike AirNZ, mind you).
Initially I was hoping to use Christchurch as my hub, but I had to concede that it's just not big enough to build a viable longhaul-network from there. But it can work from Auckland, so do expect me there.

As Air Koru want to build an NZ airline, I want to build the largest airline in Hong Kong...However, in this round, most of the routes in Hong Kong is saturated (even you put 0.01 for the price, the loadfactor is 0%). Although airlines in Hong Kong are surely lossing money in their short-haul flights, they are still here. Therefore, I think that they are unactive players of AE.
As they will be "cleared" on 5th Aug, I can build my airline in HKG (my home).

Sounds good..but the reason why HKG is crap is beacuse Ajax went in and wrecked it...as she did with any city she enters. So long as you start at HKG in the beginning of next round you are sure to be a success. Good luck.

All destination of Ajax is crap. I doubt whether she was cheating because she can take all PAX of HKG-SHA with a Saab. Moreover, HKG-SHA had been a route cannot be entered by both players and "traditional" cheater.

How quick newbs are to point fingers and cry Cheat without reading any of the many topics on this already. Please try starting with the FAQ on Wiki and then read some of the numerous threads about passenger demand before you start pointing fingers.

The power of a hub is very important too, Ajax has a large hub at HKG so she can charge higher fares and make money on routes where others loose it. If you operate a hub and spoke system like I do you can see this clearly, as opposed to the spider web approach that some do.
