When I tried to buy all the gates from a city today, I got the error message that I would not be allowed to monopolize all the gates and would be allocated 1.
Is this new or have I just never come across it before?

u can;t just buy all gates at once , even when plenty available it will still hold some gates from you . so you need to rent the last ones 1 by 1 ..

What online rules are there other than the wiki? I have read it, read the FAQ, no mention of gate restrictions.
I can live with it, although it alters my strategy. I saw Woody sweep in and buy 35 gates and I can't buy 3? So I build a terminal.

You just never saw that rule before....ive seen it before just joking around and i tried to buy 50 gates...same screen came up...no biggie...just save your money up for a terminal...
