I thought I was going to be SOOO clever. At the reset, I sold my planes, made some good cash and bought an EMB with some range. I then started a long distance route with no competition and none in the near future.

So, yeah, I am getting great LF's, but I am only making $43k DOP.

At this rate, I will be back out of debt sometime in July!!!!

Please pity stupid little me!!

good lesson for next time .. start with short range routes .. u can fly them with more frequenties .. meaning carrying more pax = $$$ . the selling and going for a bigger plane was a good move . but i suggest next time only sell 1 and keep 1 making money :o . and an EMB might have range .. but it's a JET that sux fuel .. try a saab2000 or a Q400 next time .. ;p

and if you dont want to wait .. you can always file a bankruptcy for your airline , after which you can start over again .. :P

I made the exact same mistake in the last game. Don't worry, if things ever get too bad, the bankruptcy button is your friend. Like LeipeLimbo said, Stick with Props for a while. As I said before, in the last game (prior to reset) I did as you did. I sold off my Beeches and bought an EMB and quickly figured out that it wasn't going to work. But, once I figured everything out, I was making some serious $$$.

Good Luck!

Best bet though...keep an eye on the forums and wait until the next reset...hook onto the wave of no competition and fly short routes (Above 100nm but less than 1000nm) between big cities....big money then...but the next thing to look forward to at this rate is AE3

better try to keep ur first routes under 500 NM ... remember shorter distance means more frequenties :o . And stick to props for a while .. dont start buying JETS until your dop is around 1 M.

Not true, I started about this time last round and got into the top 50. There is a lot to learn by playing and still plenty of time to do well.

Well that was last round..and i aint sayin you wrong, but technique varies as well as the competition...for many people at this point if they join, they are bound to go down, but if they dont, kudos to them! (and some to you)

Obviously someone has to be in the bottom 50% and frankly he has painted himself into a bit of a corner; one aircraft in a low airport density area. Building DOP is going to be very difficult, cheap aircraft (b19000, atr42) don't have the range, so he is forced to pick range over seats. Bankrupty is a good option, starting in europe or the east coast. As a learning exercise, trying different aircraft, getting an idea on how airport size relates to LF and competition.

Without starting over, I don't think even the top ten could advance far from that starting point. Sorry:(
