Miller coded into the game the higher cost of operating older aircraft. Thus, when aircraft get older, u pay more in maintenance and fuel costs. So, my suggestion would be replace aircraft around the 7-8 yr old age mark, as by then, ur costs (fuel and maintenance) associated with the aircraft would be high.

Really?

Given that I work on B747-400 aircraft that are 15 years old and still going (almost) as strong as the day they were built...

Considering Torque/miller was talking about resets every 3 months in our chat session, it's only 7.5 game years.

No point replacing planes when the game gets reset!

After 8 years, they're great for route crashing because they're cheap, but not for long-term usage. Just my 2 cents.

You mean it's reach shortens as the plane gets older ??,hm didn't notice that (yet) in AE , it might be in real life . and i doubt the technical state of the plane will be influenced in AE either , since we all have the same maintenance time/costs per plane . Would be a neat feature for next version i.m.o.

If the game resets every 3 months and there is no backlog to sell used a/c is difficult. I hope the backlog gets reimplemented.

i like it the way that it is. i dont think there should be a backlog, at least not like i hear it used to be. that made it too difficult to buy planes. i buy all of my planes off the used market, under value. there are many people who do it that way. maybe you are selling the wrong planes, or selling the right ones at the wrong price. i like the fact that people can order 50 planes at a time and then sell them for under value but more than they paid for them. it is another element of the game that makes it interesting.
