Closest for me is I've been on a plane that's been struck by lightning after landing. We at the gate, getting hooked up when it happened. Nobody hurt, just a power outage.

Jupp....I've been on two Emergency Landing's...
First one was on Icelandair Boeing 734....Just seconds after takeoff a seagul hit the engine and the aircraft had to head back to Rejkjavik...had to wait about 12 hours in small ass airport for another aircraft to take everybody back home to sweden.
Second was on Austrian Airlines A332 about 10 min into the flight the aircraft had some kind of electrical failure...something with some lights...could really understand what the Pilot was saying (german/english accent) lol....but anyway the aircraft had to head back to JFK.. 2 hours later got on the same aircraft and flew back to Vienna...
No big things but still they were emergency Landing's....

nope, came close once. We were twenty min. from the landing (DTW or LAS, can't remeber) when some guy in the back had a heart attack. We would have been forced to make an emergency landing had we been any farther away from the airport.

A few years ago flying Minneapolis to Minot (KMOT), the FO blew the landing and the rear tires on our DC9-30. That was fun.

hehe.
The emergency landing that happened to me was during approach to IAH on COEx ERJ. The left engine failed and we were greeted nicely by the firetrucks to make sure there was no fire in the engine.

In some technical form, yes. I was on board American 168, a Boeing 777-200(ER?) from Narita. We were told we'd be landing in 45 minutes, and after Captain Needham hung up, he later came back and told us, "The Boeing 777 has 14 tires (no, you think), and that was ONE take-off from Tokyo. We'll be getting some visitors at the runway when we land because we have low pressure in one of the tires." Why we needed to know the plane had 14 tires, I really have no clue. Doubt anyone really cared. Anyone can just go look out the window at Narita or JFK and count them up.
If anyone wants to see the landing, go here:

If you look carefully, you can see the fire trucks.

Why we needed to know the plane had 14 tires,

Yeah, but it's a really large jet flying a really long flight. Don't you think the passengers would know that the plane has plenty of tires? I know I would (then again, I'd known the 777 had 14 tires to begin with).

The average passenger only cares about getting safely and quickly to their holiday destination/back home, they don't care about the number of engines or tires or windows on the right-hand side of the plane..

Exactly my point. So why bother telling the passengers the plane has 14 tires?

Well this wasn't me but my dad works for Delta. On Christmas eve 2004 flying from CDG to ATL back when he was the copilot of the 777, they were taking off and all when after about 30 seconds of lifting off there was smoke in the cockpit. The captain reported the smoke and the ATC or someone told them to climb to some altitude to start dumping fuel but they didn't know how bad it was and god permission to dump it immediately. There was still smoke in the cockpit and even some now in the Business cabin. They came in for an emergency landing which was hard on the brakes mainly because they could only dump so much fuel and you can imaging the pressure on the tires and brakes from the weight. No fire broke out on the brakes. The cause of the smoke was determined to be something to do with the oil, not too sure though. Anyway it wasnt too serious a problem though and was not life threatening. It was fixed in 2 days but my dad missed Christmas because of that.

Also to add that Captain Needham said, "That was one take-off from Tokyo." So let me ask you this. Does this video look like it "was one take-off from Tokyo"?
