Strange Political Restrictions LGA - HNL

Im in realistic world 1950 - 2020 and I cant fly New York to Hawaii due to political restrictions, Im pretty sure they are the same country and you dont fly over any others.

 

Is this just a bug or is there a reason for this?

LGA (New York LaGuardia) – Perimeter Rule

Routes from this airport cannot be longer than 1500 miles.

 

Explains the situation.

A perimeter rule prohibits nonstop flights to or from points beyond 1,500 statute miles (2,400 km)...

Oh I see thanks, I think before I must have been in an unrestricted world as I remember doing transatlantic from it.
