Wouldn't it be nice if everyone go beds on long haul aircraft, You could give economy bunk beds stacked 3 or 4 high and business bunk beds stacked 2 high and first class as it is. then everyone could sleep. Only drawback is for economy and business passengers you can not sit up but only lay down. then again, on a red eye 13 hour overnight flight I would not mind to much

It's been suggested a few times... But at the moment, masses of beds, it's not mainstream in airline industry, so keeping it as first class only is just all right.

I think I've seen some documentaries with some of early generation long hauls in 50's or early 60's that had bunk beds, but I can't remember exactly, and it was obviously short-lived.

There are a few ideas around today, but nothing real happening in that direction.

But those are just ideas, and I'm personally not spoiled or uncomfortable with sitting so I'm OK with 10 h in an economy seat so I don't care much about that.

Beds ... what a waste of space. It would only make economy more expensive...
