Aircraft should have to undergo heavy D checks after a certain number of cycles and it cost a couple of million or whatever. So much like the alerts for expriring leases it could have a maintenance tab next to it showing when the next D check is for aicraft within the next 6 months so you know yoir about to fork out for it.
Now to avoid it being a micromanagement thing especially for huge fleets, it could just be built into the system so that it carries the check out automatically. You wouldnt have to do anything apart from chose to keep it or sell it as the D check is due.
Airlines who take care of their fleets in terms of keeping utilisation low will benefit as obviously lower cycles means D check wont come around so soon compared with the airlines who have high utilisation.
This could also be linked in with aircraft value, an aircraft lying on the used market with a D check due will obviously be worth less.

Too complicated. But it would probably available on AE5

Again, as a former AIRLINE 7 player, I say that idea is too complicated and time-consuming to be properly implemented and to have any noticeable/useful effect in the game. You have no idea how boring it is to adjust those checks.

What's Airline 7?
It doesn't have to be useful, it has to be the exact opposite. The current aircraft in this system are much too useful and efficient.
Boring? Not at all. How would a dynamic system that would make following the situation and adjusting what you're doing to what you will have to do be boring, compared to current buy-plane-ride-it-for-30-yrs-no-change-ever cycle???
Too complicated? I don't think so. This game is too simple and a total click-fest as it is, making the learning curve a bit steeper and using the brain a little bit more, instead of developing mouse skills and carpal tunnel, can only make it better.

There are many other suggestions that needed to be added instead of this. Like the automatic "decreased ticket by ...%" button or more variants on IFS and IFE. Legroom instead of number of seat. More variation for the seat choice and etc.

It will be included in the reworked maintenance system for AE4

Well if you really want D checks which are like once in 5/6 year things, why don't you suggest A, B and C checks as well. Anyhow seeing as D checks take an a/c out for the better part of 2 months have fun micromanaging the scheduling of every a/c for their checks and shifting flights around to accomodate for the mx.
