Currently my airline is 2nd and gaining on 1st but I am running an airline with a friend who is sharing control.  I know it's a silly question but will we both get a trophy or will it just be me?

The original creator of the Airlines. Nobody else would win. Betray your friends and kick them out before you win.

Haha, thanks.  I'm the original owner of the airline so he gets no trophy.  We've done about half the work each but I get all the glory.  I like it

Haha I know.  To be fair, the last time we played AE was 3 years ago and we only played half a game.  The last time we were extremely active was in 2008.  We have both been around since 2005.  So we have a lot of experience ;)  And there's absolutely no way I could do it by myself...I have a full time job and a wife ;)

LOL, relax, at least you could get Trophy for best reputation.

Likewise re the job & family. The open worlds are probably the most work out of all of them, & to be in the top few you need to work it very hard. I've never won an open world before, so it's a new challenge for me. The time era we're in also isn't great in terms of aircraft options & efficiency. Sometimes this game seems like more work than play, & the temptation just to quit is always there. But we press on!  Why? Beats me; some lame sense of achievement I suppose. Best wishes & good luck.

All good. I'd still be in the top 3 by valuation, which gets a trophy, or I could give my staff a massive pay rise in the final year, pump up the marketing & go for the top reputation trophy. The game world still has more than half to go yet.

Yeah we have plenty of time to go up or down with as much time as there is left.  I struggle with wanting to quit too which is part of the reason for my friend.  We keep each other engaged.  It helps because we live like 1500 miles from each other (Texas for me, Minnesota for him) and it gives us something to do together.  Can't do it by myself anymore (although we used to have two separate airlines)  I'm not sure why we keep going either, but it's fun.  I've actually never done anything other than the open worlds so I don't know any different!  Are they that much harder?  Why?

In all the other worlds, you can only originate flights in your home country. So if you were a US airline, you could have any domestic route, & any international route departing from a US airport. But you can't do domestic routes in China or Europe, or fly from China to Europe, etc. In the open worlds, you can fly from absolutely anywhere to absolutely anywhere, so you have to be all over both the domestic & international routes of not only your own country or region, but every country & region!

Some kids have a lot of time on their hands to do this sort of thing. Little brats!
