April 9th, 2015, marked the day that aviation said 'Adios' to the callsign Cactus. US Airways are now officially part of American.
So, will they be sorely missed, or will it be 'Good riddance to bad rubbish'?

If You're Reading This It's Too Late
Having lived in Phoenix I have a bit of a soft spot for US, having grown accustomed to avoiding them as they approach Sky Harbour. I'm reasonably confident PHX will remain a major operation within the merged entity.

Their first class is among the worst in the world. Out of 45 airlines, they ranked 41st for First Class. They charge for alcoholic drinks in every class!
They flew 757s and A321s into Buffalo!
Despite everything everyone said about their in-flight service in the later years, they were a decent airline. Remember, it was America West (a LCC) that took over US Airways, not the other way around (if the pricing strategy wasn't in the LCC line most of the time). If anything, they should be remembered as the airline that unified a bunch of tiny local service carriers into one of the largest airlines in the US. Reputation aside, that alone is impressive in my books.
Not really, it's not like Swissair or Air Greenland going bankrupt
I'm Australian, so I've never experienced them, but if they can land an A320 on the Hudson River & everyone gets to go home, that sounds alright in my books.

Them getting to go home was darn right lucky! They did not panic and the door opened immediately. if it hadn't, they'd all be at the bottom of the Hudson, DEAD.
Their livery was nice
Dern sure.
I was always a fan of their navy blue livery. It was a breath of fresh air from all the white schemes on the tarmac.

This.
I don`t exactly like American Airlines...
That`s why I didn`t like the merge...
I used to visit Ronald Reagan National Airport often so grew a little fond of US Airways.
