A train derailment near Superior, Montana sent two brand new Boeing 737 fuselages tumbling into
the Clark Fork River on Thursday. The planes were on their way from Spirit Aerosystems in Wichita,
Kansas to final assembly at Boeing in Renton, Washington.

Airbus is certainly going to overtake them on deliveries this year then...

3 airframes isn't going to make a dent in overall production, Kai. :|

But surely the rail line used to transport the airframes is going to be damaged which will take time...plus there where other airframes on the train which will now be delayed somewhat.

Sure, but that's not the only rail line that leads to Renton. I'm sure that alternative measures have been implemented to reduce the impact of this incident, which could include other methods of transportation, not just rail.

I will NOT want to fly in any new 737's for fear I will end up in one of these 3 recycled airframes  O_O    :fear:

Just take the loss and crush and recycle them.

BTW: there was a near-miss in Houston:
airline-empires.com/index.php?/topic/19180-two-planes-near-miss-houston-faa-investigating-after-two-planes-nearly-collide-in-mid-air

The USA is becoming a Joke:
- 3 737's dropped into in a river (with no investigation into possible tampering with the track by Airbus ?!  :rant2: )
- near-miss in Houston,
- Russia doing in Iraq what the USA should be doing: Taking ISIS seriously ( fool.com Move Over, America: Russia Responds to ISIS By Sending Warplanes to Iraq )

I highly doubt that those airframes will be repaired, rather, it will probably be taken apart into base components and reformed from there. Also, why would Airbus even risk sabotage? :|

As for the near-miss in Houston, that's a rare occurrence that is being actively investigated.

OK, the ISIS bit in Iraq and Russia's involvement...

If we go in in an obvious way we will make things worse more than better I fear... (obvious meaning our fighter aircraft and boots on the ground).

With that being said, keep the thread on topic please :whip:
