Running FSX runs pretty nicely except the loading times. Never tried FS9 but the increasing lack of support with later FS products would be an issue I'd imagine.

As for x plane, never tried it but based on what I've seen I would be ready to jump boats if it wasnt for all of the investment I put into FSX.

Newer developments (esp. payware) sometimes do lack FS9 support and there may be more FSX freeware addons (IDK) but there are some very good freeware FS9 addons nevertheless and I have not gathered the impression of a real lack of FS9 support.
