I know cargo airlines are coming in in AE4, but I want to know more, such as: Can you have both passengers and freight? Will the age of your plane matter? Will demand be measured by tonnes of cargo per year? I hope my questions can be answered...

Whilst I ain't the developer I do believe that demand will be measured in terms of cargo tonnage and going of AE3, age will matter. Combies should exist as well.

though I certainly hope that it'd be possible, its probably a long ways away and what I would imagine is that they are going to add a few all cargo planes and then over time add more obscure ones/combis.

...you haven't heared of maintenance fees and you don't understand how moderner airframes replace older models, hence saving in fuel flows? :o You may only be 14 but you should surely understand that?

Age mostly doesn't matter. Lease cost or depreciation of old planes is much lower than for a new plane. This seems to more than offset the increased maintenance of an old plane.  Plus lots of old turboprop airlines are more fuel efficient than modern jets.

With cargo operations being implemented in AE4, wouldn't it be cool to have the ability to convert old passenger aircraft into freighters ? Like adding a winglet now, it could be done with a simple checkbox and OK button. You check the box, push the button and the aircraft is unavailable for 4 weeks. Afterwards, the aircraft becomes available again, but then as a freighter. Would love to see that !

This would be fantastic! 727 and DC-8 flying in the XXI century in AE... And also many, many MD-11...
