If all the gates available at an airport are leased can one build a new terminal to make more gates available?

I'm just wondering if I need to worry about gates running out.

I am new to this game so I apologize if this is a dumb question.

Thanks,

BG

Only in your home country in any R world..........in O worlds, you can build terminals anywhere.

It is a major problem in the early year starts that have planes with low pax counts. Really easy to max gates on some of the larger routes

It is my understanding that in Open Worlds, you can build terminals anywhere.

In R worlds, in most cases, an airline can only build terminals in its own country. The exception is Europe. European airlines can generally build terminals at airports outside their home country.

For example, a US based airline can build terminals in the US. It cannot build terminals in Canada, Mexico, or Europe.

An airline based in the UK, can build terminals in the UK, Germany, France, etc., but it cannot build a terminal in the US.

Ok so I'm based in Puerto Rico, maybe not the wisest choice but this is my first time playing. Am I limited to flights originating only in Puerto Rico, technically part of the United States?

Correct, as it is an Rn world, you can originate flights from any airport in PR. You are however not able to originate flights from the US.

I'm guessing you only operate out of the EU ioh, where it is possible to build terminals in the EU countries. From other countries when you try to build foreign countries that is what you get.
