We have been an in game alliance for a while now, we are thinking about joining the AE Alliance network and become official. We operate with few rules, but the ones we have are set in stone.
Rule sample:
1. We communicate between members at all times of a game
2. We do not compete head to head with members. Period.
Run your airline your way, we do not ask that you be realistic. If that is the way you want to play, go for it. As long as it does not effect the alliance as a whole or hurt another member, go for it.
Standards are:
We ask that airlines stay positive, we understand the occasional dip due to payroll and EOM at game start.
Members must respond to communications within 24 real hours unless prior notice was given to leadership.
To minimize potential conflict of interest, we would like for members to fold all airlines into the alliance where ever MB is active. If a member chooses to NOT join MB in an active world, that member is NOT afforded alliance protection from competition by the alliance.
Feel free to ask questions or comments.

If you have to ask, then you have not seen it from either perspective.

Well, as per our rules, we do not compete head to head with members, if a member chooses to stay solo or try another alliance where MB is active, that member is not protected from competition.

What do you mean by "protected"?

Protected as in no member will compete on a route, share yes, but actually price war amongst each other if a no no between members in an active world. If a member chooses to not link an airline in a world where MB is active, he might face competition on routes from other members of MB. From experience, this causes bad blood to form when a non linked airline is driven from a market by another member due to competition.
