I need an R3 aircraft which is Western, has a range of over 5,000NM, flies reasonably fast, has a quick turnaround time and has good runway performance that is available before 1990. Tell me your suggestions!

767-300ER, 747-300, 747-400, 747-200, 767-200ER, A310-300...

I liked TW and it's gone. NW, and it's gone. CO, and it's gone. Pray I don't like you.

The runway requirement is pretty strict. Most LR aircraft capable of 5000 miles need at least 7000 ft. The 747-300 is like one of the worst, needing about 9000 ft

A319-100LR, possibly B737-700ER, though both are not available until after 2000. Perhaps some prop ( DC-7, L-1649 )?

Why is leasing not an option in S2?

Well, SoonerAirlines, first of all I think you are posting in the wrong sub-forum, as this is R3, not S2.

Secondly, to answer your question: S2 is a "special world", which in this case means, that leasing is forbidden to add a challenge and to slow down airline growth. This information is given when you open a new airline in this world. In S1 for example the special rule is, that no more than one hub is allowed.

Open an airline in the open worlds or the realistic worlds to be able to lease aircraft. If you need further information regarding the game structure, read/search the forums or look in the wiki, though we will happily help you here, if you have more questions. Just please make sure to choose the right forum.

Really no aircraft can have such a range without the runway length for the enigines required. The 767-200ER is capable but requires 6500ft and the 767-200 can reach the range but only with less passengers though it's runway length is less then 6000ft.
