So I've tried making an airline in Spain about 6(?) times now... I think I need some help. I seem to be able to start the carrier very profitably but within about a year (game time) it starts bleeding money. If anyone would like to help me it would be greatly appreciated. :P

Next time start at a smaller airport, Valencia or Alicante for example and until you are well established keep away from the larger airports. If you want to fly to Paris then use Orly, for London use Stanstead, or City, rather than Heathrow. Sounds like you are up against larger more established airlines, They can be ruthless.

Might not work anymore given that gate numbers at every airport are being drastically reduced :/

Use less plane type, and don't rush in early-mid game unless there ain't competitors left. Usually in early-mid game the competition is greater than early game or mid game, in which airlines start disappearing.

Be patient, don't rush, plan your move carefully and make sure to keep your maintenance expenses under control ;)

Could it be a lack of IFE/IFS which is causing your airline's demise by any chance?

use the same family of aircraft, it will save you on maintenance costs. As the base maintenance cost can cost a lot.if you want different types of aircraft it will cost you more. The a318-321 is a good idea as offer you lots of flexibility.

Haha nope finally got it up and running, now have over 100 planes. The advice of starting out in a really low fee airport really helped. I chose ALC and started running ATRs all around the Iberian peninsula. Once I got to about 30 ATRs I moved up to A319s and since then moved up to A332s. Thank you all for the advice!
