RealTime has a web browser too. But why is this discussion solely about hating IE?

What is wrong with Internet Explorer, precisely?

I use firefox, purely because I like the colour scheme. I don't think I know of any differences otherwise.

Yea you see you have to be a computer nerd to understand why IE is the biggest waste of disk space and bandwidth on the planet.

I hate IE. It always hangs for no particular reason
I HEART firefox, mainly due to its smooth and customizable interface that makes it look awesome.

I hate IE with a passion. I mainly like chrome and thats what I mainly use (although I use many browser including IE because my school forces me to (for online assignments)) although I gotta admit, they really did improve quite a bit in IE9 although still worse then my preference but they are getting there. When IE9 was released I heard some good things about it and decided to give it a go by using it for a week, still I returned to chrome in 3 days. However I will say its much much better then the previous IE releases

You tried installing it to your user? The registry keys would not make it to the next computer you'd use, so even if you could install it, it wouldn't make much difference. If you wanted to install it to one specific computer, you'd need to be Administrator(likely), so you can't either way.

Yeah, I hate it that schools force you to use IE, i tried installing chrome on my user and it got blocked, seriously! how much is microsoft paying schools
The reason schools and companies force you to use IE 6,7 & 8 is because sites like facevook and youtube have stopped support for them because they are so bad. Therefore older IE versions cannot now use facebook and youtube so you are more productive at work/school
Also microsoft dont pay anyone to use it, microsoft is actually pleading people to stop using old versions of IE http://www.ie6countdown.com/

We should put this banner on ae only instead of linking to Microsoft link to chrome or Firefox

I use Chrome because it is a lot 'cleaner' to look at. Address bar, tabs, and not much else. Thats what I hated about IE, everything gave you another useless toolbar.
I also use Firefox, but only at school because I can't download Chrome.

In order of preference:
Google Chrome Canary
Google Chrome
Firefox Beta
Firefox Nightly
Firefox
Safari
Opera Beta
Opera
Maxthon (It's decent, and since my school for some reason has it, I use it, cause the other option is IE6)
IE9
Google Chrome is by far the best browser. Firefox is good, but not as good as Chorme. Safari only earns a spot on here cause of it's speed on my PC. Opera's generally good, but I just don't like the feel. Maxthons OK, but just barely. IE9 is decent, I'd rather use it than earlier IE versions.
