delta is a better airline in my opinion, but it will be sad when the last flight for NWA will be made and the last flight of a plane that is painted in NWA colors... a combi livery is expected within the next few years for a few planes... they are also expected to repaint a 747 and A330 next year in the new delta colors which will look AWESOME!
what is wierd is there is a possibility that delta will be getting back a dc-9 they got from the merger of North East back in the 70's which eventually got in the hands of NWA. that is of course if NWA still has it...
will continue my thoughs later, class just ended...

I liked NW
I liked CO
I guess I'll settle for American now
I liked TW and it's gone. NW, and it's gone. CO, and it's gone. Pray I don't like you.

Alas this is what we are faced with today:
-AA
-AS
-DL
-HA
-UA
-US
Because along the way the following occured:
CO merged with UA
NW merged with DL
TW merged with AA
WA merged with DL
PA went bankrupt (but most of its assets absorbed by UA, DL and CO)
EA went bankrupt (most of its assets absorbed by AA and DL)
NA merged with PA
BN went bankrupt
So granted, not all of them are active, but the major players still are. A majority of them consolidated to strengthen their position, something that the UA ceo in 1976 predicted if de-regulation took place.
TW was my favorite.
NW was my second.
CO was my third.
AA is my fourth... so let's see what happens with AA as my previous favorites found their names cast by the wayside.
I still haven't found trans-Atlantic quality from an American airline that has equaled the service TWA provided in the late 1990s.

That's exactly right...
It's really me, now. #backtoAE

Unless you know something I do not, how does the age of a topic matter when the topic itself is still relevant?

Usually, people don't bump old topics....
Unless they Have something relevant to add I Think someone forgot the second part of this when they brought it up...
IIRC, when I brought the topic up I did have something relevant to add, as did QuoraKlamath... I don't see the point in Nichloas McGowan's post. There is no point in creating a new topic when an old one covers the same thing and is still relevant.
It might even provide a little more insight into the change over time when you compare views from 2008 to views in 2011.
But that's just me.

I've been wanting to say that for months, Violetqueen. And going back to the tread topic, United will always be the one for me (Would have loved to have flown with PA though)
United will always be the best.
