Help!!  I am losing money, and do not know why.  By the time my post is read, my airline possibly will have gone bankrupt, but would love some advice/tips. What, if any, information do/would you like from me? I am using a Dassault Mecure(start aircraft), and a leased DC-9-40. I am based on ORD, and have Mecure going to ATL, and the DC going to NYC. Why am I losing money???  I have 100% load factor on each plane flights, and I did max flights for each plane. I have 3 hours left on the Mercure, and 5 hours on the DC.

Set staff pay to $7, you should have ordered another DC-9 instead of the Dassault to save on maintenance cost. I’m surprised as you seem to have been a member for quite a long time.

I've been away from the game a long time. Just trying to get back into it, and have forgotten most of stuff about the game. Thanks for the tip. I st all the airline staff to $7, but now every set of staff are pissed.  Was I supposed to set each set of staff to $7, including pilots, attendants, mechanics, etc...?

Yes set every staff to $7, and 0% reserve. It's possible to start out the game without reducing staff pay, but it will be hard to turn a profit. Ignore the staff mood, it's only really useful for reputation.

Another useful tip is to order aircraft from the same family while starting out, as they will share the same base maintenance cost (under Airline Finance --> Aircraft Maintenance).

Staff payments are on the 16th of every month, and all other fees on the 1st. Each month has 24 days.

All employees must be paid $7/hour with no reserves and no profit sharing. Create "Scam IFS" (All food options at max price, all amenities at max price, don't select headphones). Don't create in-flight entertainment. Start operating from medium sized airports (SLC rather than DEN, TPA rather than MCO, etc.). Limit your airline to 1-2 aircraft types in your fleet for the first few months of the world. Make airlines in later worlds (I would recommend 1985 or later) and start as close as possible to the world start.
