I would really like to see a feature rolled out that would allow us to put together and edit IFE, IFS, and seat configs outside of a game world and then import them into the game worlds and save in-game configs to our user profiles.

For players like me who tend to go with a given starting plane and then set up the aircraft in a given way regardless of the world, this would make it so much easier to create the IFE/IFS and seat configs and then add them to the aircraft without having to go through and create each config separately through the tools with each airline.  For seat configs, it doesn’t take much more than a few seconds, but for IFE and IFS, when ratings are important, it can be tedious, especially to have to go back repeatedly to adjust IFE/IFS as new technology becomes available on multiple types and for different cabin classes.  If it takes 2 minutes to create an IFE, that can be as much as six minutes each time a new IFE feature becomes available if you do individual IFEs based on class, and then having to put that IFE on aircraft is another matter entirely.  IFS is a similar situation.  It would reduce the tedium and time spent especially for people who may be playing casually and only have 30 minutes a day to spend on the game.  Two minutes here and two minutes there can add up significantly.  I have more free time than others and a faster internet connection and it still takes a lot of time for me to do it.  In the O-1 world I’m in right now, with 12 types, it’ll mean I’ll be spending around an hour doing new IFE configs over the length of the game, and that’s on top of managing the new deliveries, and I know I’d like to use these configs again for future games without having to write them down.

So for example, I’d create a DC-10-40 config through my profile, then be able to select that config in two game worlds.  The IFE/IFS would be locked based on a given world’s date: you couldn’t have a live-TV config in 1970 for example.  My idea would be to have the configs already set up from my profile to then be able to right away start putting them in from day one of a new world instead of having to go back and recreate the same config I used for the same aircraft in the previous world.

A change like this would allow people like me to save significant time when playing.  In one world right now I have twelve different aircraft types, and would thus have to create multiple cabin configs to retrofit each fleet with IFEs.  A feature such as the one I’m proposing would save numerous players countless hours over the long run.

I would also like to see editing existing aircraft deliveries as well so I can have new aircraft delivered as new with updated IFE systems instead of going one-by-one as they’re delivered, or waiting some time to batch configure a handful at a time.  This could be done through the “Configure Cabin Layout” screen with a few combo-boxes, radio buttons, or checkboxes to change delivered and/or on-order, and all or a given number of aircraft to a selected configuration.

did search for other threads and couldn't find any using the terms I searched for.  Even if I had found one, every other forum I have been a part of looks down on necro-posting threads anyway.
