the 4000/4200 we call it the koploper (head walker)

the 2400/2600 we call it SLT (sprinter light train)

and the 8600 etc we call it v-irm  verlengd interregio materiaal (extended interregional material)

Indeed I am aware of that, but outside of the Netherlands if you tell someone you've been on the Koploper, the SLT, VIRM or the Hondekop (which on looks alone is my personal favourite :P ) they'll be  I figured giving the class numbers would be easier for people to look up ^_^ + rail geek = listing by stock class rather than common name (although I refer to them by those in general conversation)

yes that's true ;) and the hondekop  is not in use anymore by the NS in 1996 the last trains set out of service.

but at the moment NS have the MAT64  in service almost the same butt are not called the hondekop.

mat64 is my favourite.

greetings

Well it can :) It's still a train :P I just didn't list all the subway/commuter rail stock on mine because 1) There's probably way too many and 2) I don't know the stock details of all of them :P

~~Work-In-Progress~~

I shall begin by stating the following:

This list will probably have gaps, for I have been on even more trains than I can remember and I have not got them all recorded even then. I am also only including trains operated by companies operating on a day-to-day basis - so this excludes 'special trains' (steam train rides, railtours...etc).

Nice lists going here ^_^ seems a lot of us have been on BR stock :P

I'm kinda doubting if it was the ETR 610 as from my understanding those are only used on the Cisalpino services from Zurich HB - Milano Centrale (jointly operated by SBB-CFF-FFS and Trenitalia) because they have different traction motors in order to be able to support the Swiss, German and Italian electrification/signalling system, but who knows they might have swapped it in.

It was. I checked it to be sure, and it showed up on a screen in the train car.

Apart from the London Underground (which in my opinion is absolutely rubbish!) been on the eurostar from London to Paris. I must say the TGV's are brilliant! They were fast and ridiculously comfortable. Am actually looking to take my car this year to Paris using eurostar.

Never been on either but I have been on a Tram in France that looks a lot like the LUAS and they are really nice. They are quiet and you can watch the scenery with space and comfort. Am pretty sure the DART won't be as bad as the tube. I feel like am in a pack of sardines in rush hour on the tube. Oh and some people, lets put this way, Smell bad

Well only once have I been on the DART when it was packed but then again I do live 240km from Dublin (according to TJibbey just 20 minutes ago) but it's generally quite nice.  The LUAS is better though
