As a Player of this Game, i am curious about how some Airlines are gaining so much success throughout the days while other and smaller ones turning out Bankrupt after estimately two months after commencing operations.I also suffered the same thing in my first time to play the game.At my first day i have leased 1 A320-200 and a capital of $99,872,000.I send my aircraft to Manila-Singapore Route. After the commencing of the route, i leased my second aircraft, an Antonov An-148.I commence it into a route to Hong Kong. Then after eventually 2 moths.I see my capital is $-20,500,015! How could this be possible? And how to avoid Bankruptcy?

Push your aircraft utilisation to the highest possible, and fly on routes with airports that cost less to lease gates from.

Be patient. The first few months always suck.

Perhaps have IFS/IFE that generates $$$$. For a Startup avoid major airports = High gate costs. Also avoid routes with competition for the first few months or until your airline is making $$$$. Do not order different family types to start off with, Stick to one family type for a while at least. Push your Utilization to the max even if it seems unrealistic E.g. 80 times per day on some routes to start with is fine. If you want to play realistic later on you can change stuff like that. Only keep the amount of gates you really need at your starting airport. When you start the default is that the game gives you 5 gates. Return the gates you don't need otherwise you are paying for something you don't need/use. Do expand as fast as you can to get your profit of your routes to at least over the 8-10 million mark monthly so that you can at least be safe in knowing your airline will survive. Do create a hub when you have enough cash as it helps to fill your planes with passengers ( even though they only pay half the fare). But then build a terminal as soon as possible because a hub increases your gate costs etc. but a terminal lowers all costs involved at your hub airport. Expand domestically first then international as you will have less competition etc. to deal with and less maintenance costs on the domestic side of things.
Just my 2 cents
Hope some of these pointers helps

The key to a successful airline is to read the posts in New Players and Questions before asking in General AE Discussion.

I started playing this game a long time ago and the airline I just started is the only one that is actually making me profit. I did a lot of unrealistic things in order to lower what I have to pay every month. Because the reason your money is going into the negatives is because of your monthly payments. First of all I changed all my employees to 7 dollars an hour. I will raise that when my airline gets bigger. So now I am not paying 500000 a month to pay for them. Also I am only leasing cheap gates for routes that give me good daily profit. The most expensive thing that you pay for each month is the operating costs of your airplane. With the airbus you had. Each in game month you were probably paying a few million to operate the aircraft. When you start off with a plane like that make sure that you use a calculator to take the daily profit and see how much you are making a month with it. Then subtract all your monthly fees. If the result is a positive number then you are fine and won't go into bankruptcy. If it is in the negatives you need to find a way to get it into the positives because otherwise your airline will fall out of the sky in no time.

Also take out bonds. They're basically loans that give you a little extra breathing room so you can lease more planes. They're under the financial tab.
