I spent Most of January in the Philippines for an aquaculture class through my school. We started with ANA 1009, JFK to Narita. The 777-300ER was very lightly packed in economy, mostly just aisle and window seats occupied. That certainly made the 14hrs in the air better. The service was great, something consistent with all of our ANA flights. Unfortunately I did not know there were scallops in the meal and spends the middle part of the flight sick in the bathroom. The flight was smooth and we landed on time.

From Narita we took a van to Haneda. No traffic at all meant 12 hours at Haneda on New Years Eve. I loved the observation deck there. That's where I was when 2015 began. We slept on benches and mulch, a pretty miserable night with nothing open. We checked in at 6am and finally got to some better food choices and chairs. The flight to Manila was on a 767-300ER. The flight was full, the IFE was ancient, and I was still sick, but not a bad flight. On time and decent food. Lots of turbulence though. The pilots apologized for not getting us there early due STO the turbulence.

The flight back to Haneda seemed to be on a better 767-300ER. The IFE was much newer and worked better. I had a window seat, all aisle westbound, and was very comfy with the 232 seating. The food was great and the flight was short and smooth, minus flying over a piece of the typhoon. Unfortunately this was our last flight with ANA, it's all United from here.

After 4 hours at Haneda, we boarded a United 777-200 do SFO. After taking too long to load we raided from the gate late. Apparently a luggage bin underneath came loose, so we talked from the runway back to the gate. Keep in mind I am a 250lb American in a middle seat between strangers, not exactly comfy. This entire process apparently burned so much fuel they had to top off the tanks. We are now an hour late and sitting at the gate. Now a small child limits some sort of demonic fluid all over the right side of economy. United decided that rather than clean it in-flight, to Sit at the gate for another 2 hours. We took off just short of 3 hours late. Credit to the pilots, we landed just over an hour late. They hauled butt and had a nice tailwind.

fortunately we made our connection with plenty of time. SFO to JFK was a premium service 757-200. A had a window seat again, 2nd to last row on the right. I sat with friends which turned out well. Only the left side of the plane had working screens. Leave it to a flight from California to only service the left. We spent 30min at the gate, but they couldn't fix it. Again the pilots hauled potatoes and we landed early. Smooth flight with no clouds for the most part, I got good use of the window.

All of my good pictures got lost, I had some great 747 and 787 shots from Haneda. I do have 2 from the inside of the JFK-NRT flight on ANA, and the lights at Haneda. If there is a way to put short videos on here, I have two from the obsevation deck at Haneda.
