I don't know if this has been suggested before. If it has been so, please feel free to ignore or delete.

What if alliance members could build/extend terminals in alliance hubs abroad. For example, two airports in different countries, both hubs of a single alliance, have exhausted all their available gates. Neither airline cannot add flights between the airports because they don't have gates available to them and they cannot build terminals abroad.

Is this a good idea? Is it hard to code? What if the hub closes or the airline drops out of the alliance, should the terminal be kept by the builder airline or demolished or gates turned over to airport management for lease to the public.

If I recall correctly, this feature is one of many planned for the vaunted AE4. :P

Oh sorry. I thought they were suggesting the slot-sharing thing, which I find more complicated but I guess that would be more realistic as alliances share their terminals in real life.

Is it going to be alliance terminals? where say the alliance leader could

1) take a more active role as the alliance leader and set how much each airline contributes to the terminal? based on usage? or

2) have a percentage calculation coded into the game automatically. Example, if the terminal costs 1,000,000 and I use 10% of the slots, I contribute 10% of the monthly cost? and to account for the unused portion, in this case lets say its 20% unused in an alliance of 5 airlines, each airline would contribute an additional 4% to cover it?

And yes it could get abusive, but when that happens, the airline could just leave the alliance. This may discourage the one or two airlines who submit the laundry list of requests just to have the largest alliance and not care about competition or any sense of realism? I find it funny when I get 3 requests within minutes to the same alliance before time even starts and the "alliance leader spammer" doesn't even realize it because he is too worried about being at the top..... okay this is turning into a rant. Ill stop now.

I disagree with that. Alliance leaders will build terminals wherever they feel like, not where member airlines are. I do agree that airlines should pay to be in alliances, as they get connecting pax.
