This entire guide is bull****

Every expert player knows that the optimal seating configuration is 1 first class seat. Makes your airline 100 100 OG premium.

I just eyeball it and it works, although not having a first class is nice for some airlines so could you make a chart but not include first class.

This game's really not realistic at all. I try to go for realistic seating densities but I always find others getting away with configurations that are far too dense really.

It all depends on what you're aiming for. If you want to aim for quality, then use realistic seating configs, but understand that those that just want to aim for highest value are going to use dense configs to make more money. I just try to play as realistically as is feasible and aim for better reputation.

That's what's not realistic about it! Because someone going for maximum numbers of seats wouldn't get away with it in real life - certainly not outside the world of short haul budget airlines, where no one cares quite as much about legroom...

Another question that just occurred to me actually - Which would cost more, offering a top-drawer IFS that's identical in all 3 classes, or offering the top-drawer IFS only in First and making inferior offerings in cheaper classes? I ask just cos I'm trying to make sense of the "Per Flight Costs" in the IFS section...

I recommend not doing British Airways and doing 1:10:15... they operate like 75% premium cabins and 25% economy... it does NOT work out well in AE.

Except for their all-business A319-100LR, it's worked out well for me once before.

My simple formula:
Y = 70% of plane capacity
C = 15% of Y
F = 15% of C

How would premium economy capacity be calculated? I know it doesn't yet exist in AE, but I'm sure real world airlines give premium economy a little more room than regular economy.

My ideal monarchy game would be guilds with no instances. Edits would be made to the game to make building take less time, training take less time and attacking less time.

I use moo tools (user project) because I have like a c in math. It auto calculates based on Ogg’s seat configure table.

My Ideal Configuration

F2/C10 for planes of capacity between 136 and 300

F4/C20 for planes of 300+ capacity

and

Airbus 380/800 is F10/C30

Have managed to get almost 95% seating with this configuration every time.

the ideal seating configuration for aircraft depends on the buisness model of your airline. for example, on my airline focused on leisure travel so i have 180 seat A320s and b737s to allow more comfort and no business or first as there isn't enough demand.

This game's really not realistic at all. I try to go for realistic seating densities but I always find others getting away with configurations that are far too dense really.

Totally true. E.g: https://www.seatguru..._777-300_ER.php

8 First, 52 Business, 28 Premium Economy, 28 Main Cabin Extra, 188 Economy.

Yes, Premium Economy and MCE don't exist in AE, but AE is still way off. I just put in 8 F and 52 C for a new config of the same plane on AE (which isn't even out yet in the game AFAIK and I didn't even confirm creating config) as a test... and maximum seats for Y is 446! That is 202 more seats than the AA 777-300ER! Yes, spamlines have little legroom, but the difference is actually also the First and Business seats (which take up much more space on long-haul non-regional configs)

Now, let us use an aircraft without PE or MCE/E+ etc.

https://www.seatguru..._A330-300_A.php

8/42/230 on an A330-300. I get 8/42/352. The difference is still great, and it is not just legroom (a 122 seat difference). Even with regional-style business class seats, the difference is still great.

Also, long-haul LCCs often DON'T even use 28-30" seat pitch (though they may have ultra-narrow seats).

And then you have the problem of 737-800 and 737-900, among others. Pretty self-explanatory if you saw them.

How do realistic airlines even come close to competing with spamlines with widebodies on long-haul? AFAIK, they often use much denser configs than "realistic".

P.S. I run a spamline in S3-B, but am unable to use all the planes. I will try creating realistic airlines when these worlds finally reset (if ever).
