To kick us off:
- The inaugural HA HNL-BNE flight landed on Wednesday. The route will be operated 3x weekly by a B763.
- CA to deploy the 77W on the daily PEK-SYD, a boost from the current A330.
- By May 2013, all of QF's weekday SYD-PER and MEL-PER flights will be operated by A330s. As a side note, VH-EBV, an A332 was delivered to QF last week. and should enter service in the next few days
- QF's new reconfigured 717s will sport 125 slimline economy seats. This is an increase of 10 seats from the previous 115 seat layout. However seat pitch will not change too much thanks to the removal of a toilet as well as the introduction of slimline seats.
- ZK-OKP, an NZ 77W was recently painted in the Hobbit livery and dropped off cast and crew of the Hobbit movie premiere, flying from AKL-WLG.
Feel free to post news and have discussions in this thread.

Worth noting that slimline seats have no effect on pitch, only legroom. Having been on slimline(ish) seats, I have to say there's a decent amount of space but the loss of padding is a bit crap.

The longest flight for a 717 is 3~hours. That's really quite short so it's not like padding is really gonna kill you.
Tis cozier though.
Also slimline seats aren't that much more uncomfortable than a traditional seat.
Arguable. Depends on exactly what type of seat QF is using.

I love QF
it's the best airline in the world.
Um, they might just rob JQ's slimlines and change it a bit. and JQ's seat is by no means uncomfortable.

You misquoted me. I meant alliance. And by QF, I meant Qualiflyer.

AC from December 14 will start AC35, a 3x weekly flight from YVR-SYD. This is on top of the daily AC33
Will this be timed differently?
Seems ripe for VA to start this route. Seems something they'd try. Though there's onwards connection issues.

-So yeah, ex-BA 767-336ER VH-ZXB is now off to the desert.
-The 3rd QF 767-338ER has been refurbished.
-I though I'd just rewind 1.5 months and say that the DRW-KIX service has started. It's operated by JQ thrice weekly and from December, a 4th weekly frequency will be added by extending the DRW-SIN flight.
-NZ have announced they will continue the seasonal 2x weekly AKL-MCY. The flights will operate between June 18 and October 13, 2013.
-VA have released an Ipad/Iphone app for inflight wi-fi streaming aboard it's flights.
-PER will claim bagging rights to the first scheduled commerical 787 service with QR launching PER-DOH flights.
-In case you guys haven't seen the Hobbit NZ 77W...

DRW-SIN-KIX. Sounds boring.
So does JQ expect Japanese tourists to visit Darwin's shiny heat, or is it as a connection point to the rest of Australia?
So QR 787s are configured weirdly. There's a strange two seater J in the second cabin. Also not very premium heavy. Does PER have much corporate traffic?-PER will claim bagging rights to the first scheduled commerical 787 service with QR launching PER-DOH flights.

Must say it's a pretty spectacular decal.

The only corporate traffic that PER gets is resources sector.
