Most of the routes from ATL on my airline, Classicale Air, on R3 have been spammed, like this one, by this airline called Cubana de Aviacion:

Attached File  Spamliner.PNG   197.23KB   3 downloads

Attached File  Spamliner2.PNG   81.95KB   2 downloads

BTW I cut fares before taking the picture.

Anyone else feeling this?

How is it? It's a LCC. And uses DC-9-50s and low cost 3* and 4* IFS.

Banning spam lines wouldn't work. The only way to take out a spamline is to become the better spamline.

Well, you're still making good cash on that route.

I agree with wthat other players say, you're still making money on that route (and I think it's the case on all your routes) and you have a loadfactor of 100%. So, this spamliner can make his routes without impact you. And I saw routes that are a lot more spamlined that this route.

Your on time performance is crap because you're spamming your aircraft :P

19 hour + utilisation is one of the most 'spammy' things an airline can do. So if you want to complain about spamlines maybe you should stop spamming yourself. :P

I just hate when "Cubana de Aviacion" is headquartered in ATL and doesn't fly to Cuba.

Because you can't fly between the US and Cuba, I bet.

I think what he's getting at is that what is clearly a Cuban airline is based in the US. It bugs me, and I assume other people, that many airlines make no sense. It's like having South African Airways based in Belgium.

Yes - that doesn't make much sense. When I was doing Americana in S3B, there was a Cubana that opened operations in San Juan - then expanded into the us, while being able to fly to cuba from SJU. I don't get why they would name it that - it's pretty stupid. Honestly - American Airlines is a much better name for an airline doing that!

No it is not cr*p because 1. Most airlines in AE (even non-spams) do it and 2. there are 168 hrs a week, so I still have 45 free hours technically LOL.

You do realize that 28 of those hours are for maintenance, right? Leaving your aircraft with a mere 17 hours free a week. This is one of the easier spammy things to fix in an airline, though. You can easily start a new airline and keep utilization low. You can also start shifting to realistic seat configurations while you're at it. (If your goal is to stop being called a spamline)

Your on time performance is sitting at 50%-55% judging from that screenshot. That is piss poor. If that was a real airline your flight cancellation rate would be unacceptably high, the lost revenue and compensation would cripple the airline (something I wish was factored into AE, but, alas, that is for another thread).

So whilst it works in AE, if you are going for any sort of realism i.e. not a spamline, then you need to drastically reduce your utilisation. :P

By the way, the game originally was going to have 160 useable hours (go to the aircraft list and look at the bottom of the 'Filter by hours', it's 160). PLUS, the guide http://www.airline-e...first-route-r15has a part like this:

'Here, we see that our starter plane still has 116 hours available each week. Repeat the route-opening process above until the aircraft has close to 0 hours remaining – otherwise the airline will have a hard time covering its costs!'

Also, my airline still has the superior reputation.

The reputation system is as useful as a marzipan dildo.

 Yes.
