I've decided to create a new showcase to display some of my work, as my older thread was getting quite messy. Although I'm not taking requests at the moment due to other commitments, I hope to be soon! Here is some of my work for my airline business plan. This project has been ongoing for some time and hence most of the work shown does not necessarily relate to the business plan as it currently stands. Much of it, if not all, i'm sure you have all seen, but I wanted to have a combined collection of.... Australian Airlines work :)

Kicking things off, a rather dated 'fluff' section of a plan belonging to an older strategy of mine.

An excerpt:

The Experience

Australian will provide a simple full service experience. In order to maintain a medium to low cost structure, Australian will initially not provide some common amenities such as airport lounges. However, checked baggage will be included in every ticket, as well as food and beverages on board*, while fares will be 100% transparent, with no additional fees or surcharges.

Quality of service, safety and customer satisfaction are the top priorities for those on our staff, both in the air and on the ground. Our team will work diligently and pro actively to ensure that your flight operates to schedule and that your needs are met. At Australian, every passenger is entitled to a great trip. And that all starts with the best service in the sky.

A livery from that time period, along with spme frequent flyer cards and potential billboard advertisements:

A pair of liveries, encouraged by ev's comment, one representing domestic flights and the land (the red australian desert), and one representing international flights and the sea (the great pacific expanse) for the largest island nation's flag carrier, Australian.

Might i say that the reflections on the 2 latest liveries looks...wrong? the design is awesome but i am not a fan of the reflections on any of those liveries :/ otherwise it is perfection

I plan on correcting that shading ASAP :)

In the meantime, i've made a couple of quick banner ads, the theme being somewhat lyrical (If you'll forgive the pun)...

The below Australian livery has had a minor adjustment or two, and is shown here on a new 747-400 template. This particular aircraft type will launch non stop flights between the United States, Canada and the Australian east coast, configured in a two class layout. The new CX/US Sicma 'Cirrus' will be the seat of choice in first.

The aircraft will have a total of 380 seats, 12.63% of which would be J class. The addition of an increased legroom premium economy product would decrease Y seating to 272, providing 45 premium seats at 38 inch pitch, for a 25.5% premium capacity mix.

4E Designs presents: The design process - From nothing to something.

Client: QK Flight Industries

Brief: Create a logo and accompanying livery for Aeroways Aviation aircraft charter services and associated subsidiaries.

Material(s) given:

Posted Image

I initially began working on a basic and rather generic paint scheme, as is visible below. From the above sketch I created a simple logo, again, as is visible below.

Posted Image

The font for the titles (as seen above) was chosen as, for the most part, it resembles the main logo and blended rather well. Such bulky and imposing fonts tend to give the impression of a young, vibrant low cost carrier, a theme I decided to continue with through the use of bold tones. Furthermore, the client requested a transition to Boeing aircraft, and hence....

Posted Image

....from this Royen 777-300ER paint scheme, a revised logo and a new template were born....

Posted Image

The livery underwent one minor and two major further revisions after this point. The revisions focused on two major concerns, the first being the outrageous colour palette, the second being the illegibility of the forward titles, both of which I attempted to address with the below schemes:

Posted Image

This scheme saw the relocation of the rear logo and the addition of a contrasting solid behind the forward titles, while the below scheme demonstrates how much of a difference a single colour palette can make.

Posted Image

After a handful of further adjustments and a little fiddling around with the logo, I feel this final piece below (relative to my original concept livery/logo on the A343) is great design, although somewhat unfinished, the coloured engines being my favourite feature.

As usual, I would appreciate any and all constructive criticism provided by my AE peers! I'm of the opinion that every piece of work is a collaborative AE team effort, and to prove this point, i'd like to say thank you to all those that have contributed to my designs, both past and present:

Jetabout - For you fantastic templates we all know of and love!

Sheepy - For being my most trusted source of criticism, common sense, advice and opinion.

Speedbird - For inspiring me to begin designing schemes in the first place.

Agremeister - For his gloss and other shading techniques.

VioletQueen - For her template border layouts.

Honourable shout outs to my other defacto AE chat critiques:

Bolli - Royen - AR157 - Maestro69 - Tintinfan - Everett

...and many others :)
