My airline TWA can't open route from STL to DUB with 767-400

Posted by biggscc on 23 October 2015 - 12:56 AM

Flights already exist, and I have gates and slots.  There are competing US Airlines already on the route (Monarch).  I go to add flights, and even though I have a 767-400ER with 140 free hours, it won't show the flight (easily in the plane's range).  Help?

Dear biggscc,

This is no bug but simply an performance issue with your favorable aircraft, so let me explain;

below i have taken a cutout of the performance of the Boeing 767-400ER.

here it is clear that it have the range to do it, however we see that the runnway requirments is 9,024Feet - 9,223 Feet

Now, lets take a look at the runnways at both airports.

St. Louis; 11,019 Feet - This is okay, the B767-400ER can fly to and from this airport with no problem.

Dublin - 8,650 Feet - This is sadly too short runnway, depending on your engine choice we lack between 373 and 575 feet to be able to land.

So even if the aircraft can fly the distance, it will not be able to land safely when it arrives in dublin, and therfore you cannot open the route cause the runnway is too short to accommodate the Boeing 767-400ER.

i do however see, that your airline also utlize the Boeing 767-300ER, 767-200ER, 737-700ER, 777-200ER so if you use one of theese you will be able to operate the route, or wait untill you get your B787-800 or B747-8i wich both is also able to make the flight :)
