#52739 Cybernations (Off Topic)

Posted by NewYinzer on 21 December 2007 - 11:59 PM in Off Topic

For a few months now I've been playing one of the best online games I've seen. It's called Cybernations, and you create a nation anywhere in the world and decide how you will rule your people by choosing a government type, a national religion, ethnicity, tax rate, currency type, and more in this geo-political, nation, and government simulator. You can build your empire by purchasing infrastructure to support your citizens, land to expand your borders, technology to increase your nation's effectiveness, military to defend your interests, and develop national improvements and wonders to build your nation according to your choosing.

It's a very good game, and if any of you are interested in the game, it's available free at:
http://www.cybernations.net/

Since it's a very competitive game, it is recommended that you join an alliance. A good alliance is the GGA, located here:

#51858 Airline Empires Version 3...

So...is everything here hopeless? If so, I'll just return to the shadows of the Diecast Aircraft Forum...

#51821 overloading on routes

What about me??:puzzled:

Quote FlyWorld Air: NewYinzer: You've made the same point three times on three separate posts... I am doing something about the airports in the game... Why don't you stop annoying others about it and actuall do something about it?

Exactly...

I meant the real airline Emirates...not the simulated airline which also shares the name Emirates...I should have said that in my first post. Gomen!

As for annoying people - the average member around here can't add airports to a list in-game or somehow magically gain the ability to edit the game. I was trying to draw attention to a problem, not single people out.

Mea Culpa! I did not realize that something was being done about this until you told me...

#51789 Game Reset (Sim One)

Posted by NewYinzer on 19 October 2007 - 12:34 PM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

I hope that we get some more airports in sim1 before the next reset! Remember people - a J31 is built for Portsmouth to New London/Groton, not New York to Boston!

#51788 Airline Empires Version 3...

Posted by NewYinzer on 19 October 2007 - 12:30 PM in Announcements

Face it, this game is missing most of the airports which real airlines serve. Before we go into Version 3, we should get at least a hundred small or medium sized airports. There are hundreds of airports in China, but I only see about five in the game. What is the problem with throwing the small airlines a bone and making the game more realistic? Remember people - a J31 is built for Portsmouth to New London/Groton, not New York to Boston!

#51787 overloading on routes

Rather than complaining about the supermajors and their route dumping (just ask Emirates), why not add more smaller airports to make the game better for small carriers? Egypt has many serviceable airports, but I only see Cairo. We don't need more regulation, which goes against the capitalistic nature of the game, but more markets. New carriers can exploit those markets, rather than being forced out of current markets by the supermajors.

Please tell me this is real and not some cock and bull story...

#51660 Half Price Beeches

Posted by NewYinzer on 12 October 2007 - 10:34 PM in Game Discussion (SIM1)

I could use one of those Beeches. My Airline's code is 20506. I've got 3.4 mil on hand and I'm ready to go.

#51651 Please fix the gate amounts

Posted by NewYinzer on 12 October 2007 - 01:36 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

I don't see why we can't delete those airlines who are inactive. Theoretically, if they're inactive for 20 days, they aren't playing, right? That would free up some gate space for new entrant carriers. As for negative gates, why not edit the gate info so those airports with negative gates are edited to have, say, 20 free gates? As for gate hoarding, US Airways has hoarded gate space at Pittsburgh for years. What we really need is gate info for more airports. It's a bit much to ask for runway info (so we could stop A380's on domestic routes), but how come I can't serve Grand Rapids, Green Bay, State College, or Yellowknife? These airports exist, and by allowing new airlines to serve them, they could survive in a niche market.

I say reset the whole game! There aren't enough gates anymore, making it impossible to start up a respectable airline anymore. Plus, we need to get the hackers out of the game once and for all.
