#292402 Route Reputation

Posted by Jarkii on 07 May 2023 - 06:00 PM in New Players and Questions

If you're talking about the route reputation in the overall repuations tab, then IDK. I recently won R0 reputation at 100%, but my route reputatiuon was stuck at 45 depsite having 70%+ individual reputation on most my routes. If you're going for reputation, just focus on all the other things and use marketing at the end of the world time to get to 100%

#292282 Most profitable route

Posted by Jarkii on 23 April 2023 - 06:30 AM in General AE Discussion

why was this thread revived, my old responses are embarrasing LOL

My most profitable route (updated) was DEL-BOM with ~7m from the new demand system. I had about 120% demand saturation.

#292243 Why is nothing ever done about spamming

Posted by Jarkii on 17 April 2023 - 04:34 PM in General AE Discussion

here's what you do about spamlining:

1. play for reputation, not valuation

2. don't play in USA or China (or europe in worlds that start 1990+)

3. Play in smaller worlds

it's obvious that "spamlining" is the best way to attain the valuation trophy, so if you want to get it, learn to play that way. As has been said here already, it's within the rules of the game.

#292240 What does the purple line mean?

Posted by Jarkii on 17 April 2023 - 08:50 AM in New Players and Questions

Connexting PAX require a hub of your airline or your alliance to connect through. if your flight does not fly to a hub, and/or the hub doesnt have any other destinaitons, your PAX can't connect. Connecting pax generate half the ticket revenue of direct pax, but 100% IFS revenue. Connecting pax is most useful when trying to fill flights with lots of competition.

#292239 Good 757-200/200M Replacement?

Posted by Jarkii on 17 April 2023 - 08:46 AM in New Players and Questions

Since the demand increases over time now, I'm replacing my 753s with 788s. (yes, 788s work pretty well on ~1000mi routes). Most of the time, the capacity increase isn't big enough to adjust for the inflated demand, so I imagine the 788 can replace the 752 just as capably.

Keep in mind, my aircraft are outfitted for 70+ legroom rating, so all of them have less capacity than yours may have.

#292238 Boeing 747-400D worth the price?

Posted by Jarkii on 17 April 2023 - 08:42 AM in New Players and Questions

If you fly dense domestic and/or short haul routes, and don't need other 747s, yes. Otherwise go for the -400.

#292234 What is the route which has the most demand?

Posted by Jarkii on 16 April 2023 - 07:28 PM in General AE Discussion

Most I've seen in GMP - CJU with approx 14,000. :)

GMP-CJU is 20,000 in 2015 (in R0 currently), I think it reaches up to 33k in 2025-2030

#292226 A330-300 or 777-200(Not the ER)

Posted by Jarkii on 14 April 2023 - 05:18 PM in General AE Discussion

A343 is the most efficient in the A330/A340 family, 772 is the most efficient 440 seat 777. The 777 is less efficient than the A340, but the 773 beats them both in cost per seat miles when it comes out later, so people could just be going for fleet commonality if they only get the 772.

#292225 In your opinion, what are the most underrated aircraft in their families?

Posted by Jarkii on 14 April 2023 - 05:09 PM in General AE Discussion

747-8i. The same efficiency/seat as an A380, and the perfect size for a lot of routes in the 2010s. I try to allocate exactly one or two aircraft per route, so it fits my playstyle.

The 777-300. It's way more efficient than the -ER in AE (for some reason), and has similar range. The only drawback is the runway req.

#292224 In your opinion, what are the most underrated aircraft in their families?

B753, A343, Tupolev 214, A306R.

Personally, I rate those highly already. 753 is extremely efficient

#291811 Roleplay Worlds

Posted by Jarkii on 02 February 2023 - 02:17 PM in New World Requests

Probably beating a dead horse

But

A lot of complaning about "spamliners" (as per usual) going on, so I thought: the Idea of making a few worlds that do not award valuation trophies could partially solve this.

It would remove the primary insetive of "spamlining" (p r o f i t). There could still be people who do it to troll, but less likely I assume.

And a default ranking in Reputation instead of valuation when bringing up the leaderboard (repuation trophies should still be awarded)

I believe it would be pretty easy to implement, but I'm not a programmer so IDK

World stats could be:

1960s-2020s

30 mins a day (more time to manage in detail)

1 airline per account

~ 200 airline slots

(yes this would be a very long game, IDK if that affects the servers or whatever)

thoughts?

#291809 Stop spam airlines by not permitting any airline to schedule more than 2x the...

Posted by Jarkii on 02 February 2023 - 01:51 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

But that is the consideration you gotta take as a player to run a realistic airlines. Reducing utilization rate by reducing the number of flights for each aircraft you operate.

Realistic players always do that. Also, diving into all of these players who complain about spamlines. They operate unrealistic number of aircrafts in their fleet, setting up unrealistic hubs and routes, using unrealistic seating configurations, etc.

You cannot ignore everything else they did and just said "everyone has different opinion". At some point, these airlines they operate are soo unrealistic.

I don't think you get it, the responsibility is yours to make your airlines realistic. Not AE.

Though I guess what you're say is, is that people with unrealistic airlines shouldn't complain about other people spamlining, which is fair if you categorize any unrealistic airline as a spamline.

Our disagreement comes from our different definitions of a spamline.

No where in AE's rules does it say that you have to operate a realistic airline.

What I was trying to say is that if AE had more realistic consequences, people would natually make their airlines more realistic because it would be the best way to run it .Not saying AE should be realistic, just pointing out the reason people fly their aircraft for 19hrs a day is because it's beneficial in AE, where in wouldn't be in the real world.

Personally, I define an airline as a 'spamline' when it abuses connecting pax and IFS income, and when the airline orders most types of aircraft to get as much seats delivered monthly as possible, "spamming" routes.

I do use my aircraft entirely, and open a lot of routes which don't exsist in the real world, but I only match the demand. A lot of that demand wouldn't exist in the real world, but again I'm making my airline efficient in AE, where it would probably not be in the real world.

#291803 Website Loading/Function Issues

Can confirm from Brisbane, Au, although no random downloads (that I've seen...). Just very slow loading. maybe server maintenance/upgrades?

I'm gonna use FRONTIER'S own number instead:

"Average daily aircraft utilization increased to 11.1 hours per day in the third quarter of 2022, with a further improvement to over 11.5 hours per day expected in the fourth quarter as operations continue to normalize through the travel recovery."

https://www.globenew...travel recovery.

Some more data for other airlines:  Start at Page 25.

https://core.ac.uk/d...f/223022182.pdf

Again, you're ignoring the fact that AE doesn't include factors that would drop a real airline's utilization down.

Also, unlike AE, I believe most real hub-spoke airlines plan their flights for connecting PAX (they schedule most flights to land around a certain time, and take off a certain time later), which would also drop average utilisation down as some routes are shorter than others, so the aircraft could potentially be sitting at the destination airport for hours.

Besides all that, what I am trying to say is - you can't define an airline as a "spamline" if they use all the hours of their aircraft, because AE doesn't have most of the mechanics that would insentivise not doing so. (ofc there is "on time performance", but that's just a reputation stat and doesn't change anything with the operation of the aircaft). It's the most efficient way to operate your aircraft profit-wise, wiith almost no consequences.Only role-playing or repuation airlines would do so, and I don't think it's right that you ask everyone to play like that.

Where did you get those data? How did Frontier able to achieve aircraft utilization rate of 226.68 hours?

https://web.mit.edu/...ating Fleet.htm

According to this source, 9.1 is not very high...

Frontier even averaged more than 20hrs in 2002, which is beyond AE's limit!

and remember, this is WITH technical problems, groundings, cancellations and A,D checks factored in, which, again, AE does not have

to be fair, I didn't know the figures, I just knew that it was a strategy some LCCs used and assumed Ryanair was included

#291785 Stop spam airlines by not permitting any airline to schedule more than 2x the...

Posted by Jarkii on 01 February 2023 - 12:59 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

It is spamline. This is not for you to decide. It's for the Admin and creator of the game to decide.

You keep ignoring the daily utilization rate close to 19 hours. Which is impossible in real life. That is spamming.

So Ryanair is a spamline? It's common for LCCs to use every hour they can of their planes. 4 or 5 hours a day for maintenance (on average, which is 28-35 hrs/week) is enough for regular maintenance. AE doesn't factor in A and D checks (or cancelled flights), so, atleast from what I understand, 19hrs/day or ~130 hrs a week is realistic for what features AE has.

Even so, an unrealistic airline is not automatically a spamline.

and has any admin/creator defined spamlining?

Not always, they could be unrealistic airlines who flew Soviet aircrafts in 2020 in the US or Daily Utilization of aircrafts at 19+ hours or have aircrafts that are 30-40 years old.

Not a spamline tho, just a lack of realism in their playstyle. Old aircraft do add up maint. costs, so its not an advantageous thing to do necessarily

Kinda confused here, what makes an airline a spamliner? Also, is my airline a spamliner?

No, your American Airlines is not a spamline. 600-700 aircraft is about right for the routes you have. You're just a constant expansionist, which is how most people play the game

too true.

Last time I checked, UAL didnt operate the 747-400M and most certaintly did not operate the Boeing 737-300 in a 2/15/105 configuration, nor did they operate the ATR42/72 and CRJ200 at a mainline level.

Bro is out here complaining about the same airlines he is a part of

Bro has a CRJ-200 with a single first class seat  XD

#291132 Profit per Seat Mile Metric

Any thoughts on adding a Profit per seat mile metric in the "routes" tab? I would find it very useful. It would help find underperforming routes easier.

#291122 Hub exploit?

Posted by Jarkii on 04 November 2022 - 08:34 PM in General AE Discussion

there is no real demand

Hub and spoke. you have to fill demand on the routes directly from that airport that the spamliner is using to fill one route with conections. this player is probably indirectly serving hundreds of routes to that airport.
