Air Canadien

Bringing back one of the first brands I ever uploaded to the gallery (and also one of my best received) - Air Canadien, a major Canadian legacy carrier founded in Montreal in the the late 1940s. Shown here is the airline's 1965 livery on its first Fokker F28 Mk1000, delivered in 1968. Air Canadien would go on to fly the F28 Mk1000C, Mk2000, and Mk4000, as well as F70 and F100 - all Fokker jet airliners bar the F28 Mk3000. During the time period depicted here it operated a variety of DC-8 and -9 variants, and would soon after go on to fly the DC-10, Boeing 767, 747-400, various MD-80s and eventually 737s, 777s, and 787s. Throughout its history and to this day, Air Canadien has remained one of Canada's largest and most premium carriers.

This Fokker in its original form has been on the gallery for almost four years at this point, but has now been recreated using an improved template and and much better Photoshop techniques than the super rudimentary way I used to create liveries back in 2018.

Vienna Airlines

IATA VI | ICAO VNA | CALLSIGN VIENNA

Vienna Airlines is the flag carrier of Austria. Originally founded by the British to fly (mostly UK-bound, and mostly diplomatic or military) passengers out of RAF Schwechat using a pair of C-47s during the Allied occupation of Austria, its fleet grew over the following ten years. The airline gained independence from the UK and became Austria's de-facto flag carrier when the occupation ended in 1955. It has grown significantly since then, becoming one of Europe's premier airlines and a founding member of the OneSky Alliance. Shown here is an A330-300 in the carrier's latest livery, but featuring the interior hard product introduced in the mid-2000s.

A 1977 english-language Hermes Airways advertisement displayed in foreigner-facing locations in Athens, such as Ellinikon International Airport and Syntagma Square (especially in and around the Hotel Grande Bretagne).
