#259735 If you could take charge of your country's flag carrier...

Posted by Mr PAG on 14 January 2018 - 04:06 AM in What I Would Do Is...

I from Singapore so it would be Singapore Airlines for me.

Not sure if you guys are aware that SQ enjoys a near monopoly in the aviation market in Singapore (Silk Air and Scoot are all under SQ). Before we talk about what can be done, lower the prices (and not charge for seat selection on fare;imo it devalues the brand)!!

#259403 Why the Box: The launch of a new SkyRoutes

Posted by Mr PAG on 11 January 2018 - 10:41 AM in Announcements

AOlsEwD.png

I believe many people (including our own members) have been wondering why we opted to use a box as the alliance logo.

This may seem surprising to most people, but in actual fact this logo is intended to represent 'a open box', where our members are free to contribute to the alliance in all aspects with minimal restrictions and without the fear of being judged by other members. SkyRoutes encourages our members to be part of the alliance's operations and have a say through our committees while at the same time contributing back to the AE Community with initiatives to help one another. We would like to reiterate that this does not undermine and/or remove privileges a SkyRoutes member gets as this would be worked out accordingly during the planning process. We shall leave this 'open box' to the AE Community (and SR members too!) and see how this can be further improved, so if you feel something could be done to make this better drop me a pm and we shall work things out.

We apologise for the delayed launch due to some delays in certain admin matters which are beyond our control. Here we are glad to announce the official launch of SkyRoutes. Interested members could head down to our subforum or our website to understand more about us and be part of the SkyRoutes family.

We look forward to welcome you on board the SkyRoutes Family soon, exploring the great things one idea at a time.

NOTE: If you were a SkyRoutes member before the Sept 2017 closure AND did not express your interest to be part of the new SkyRoutes back then, you are required to re-apply (with relaxed requirements which I would tell you more about). This offer ends Jan 2018.

#258109 New Aircraft Pricing, Northern and Yuxi want Feedback

Posted by Mr PAG on 25 December 2017 - 08:09 AM in General AE Discussion

The A340 "classics" have not been touched in terms of pricing, and maintenance costs just exploded because it seems to be related to purchase price. I went for an A333 heavy fleet because the lower maintenance cost offset the slightly higher fuel burn of the A343 (which in reality is well, not true). Now, the A333 in-game has much higher maintenance cost which well, gg my strategy.

Widebodies have lower returns already so in all honesty, a harsher operating climate of lowered profit margins makes me lean towards a "safer" strategy, also known as spamlining.

(I have one "proper" airline and one spamline)

This perfectly explains why my profits was suddently slashed by over 1/3

#258037 New Aircraft Pricing, Northern and Yuxi want Feedback

Posted by Mr PAG on 24 December 2017 - 03:01 AM in General AE Discussion

Would this affect AC purchased b4 this price hike?

If possible would appreciate a list of how much the prices of ac increased/decreased sp we have a better guideline. :)

Besides that personally i feel increasing the starting amount should be done to reflect the changes in a/c pricing.

#257924 Requirements

Posted by Mr PAG on 22 December 2017 - 04:40 AM in Applications

m8sVIFR.png

This requirements applies only for the airline you are using to apply to SkyRoutes, although certain

aspects are standard across all alliances and would be taken into consideration for all of your airlines.

Airline

-NOT from Sandbox Worlds (S4B/E).

-Spamlines Strictly Prohibited.

-Airline Utilisation Hours <15h.

-Decent Seat Configuration. 1

-Decent IFE/IFS with respect to class of travel and route length.

Member

-Neutral/Positive Track Record in the Forums.

-Active and able to commit to alliance/committee activities.

Note the following

While SkyRoutes welcomes all members regardless of when they join, we recommend applying 1 month

after your 'Joined Date'2 and a presence in the forums for a greater chance to be accepted.

Note the 3 Applications in 3 months rule as applicants who violate it would see their application rejected without member vote.

In certain cases we require shared control to understand in depth about the methods you operate your airlines. Be rest assured that we would not edit anything with regards to your airline and only view certain aspects of the airline that we are unable to do so without shared control.

Failure to comply to such requests might result in an immediate rejection of your application without a member vote.

Applications are only sent for member voting if they meet our airline requirements.

SkyRoutes recommends using this or real-life airline configurations (state with airline you used in your application).

2 Refer to our website to understand more (under 'Join the Family').

The above requirements are subjected to change without notice. Last updated 22/12/17.

By applying, you acknowledge the content written on all pinned posts in the 'Applications' subforum and we hold no responsibility for any

misunderstandings that could arise due to the content in the posts. You are also reminded that incomplete/improper applications

(and/or do not follow our format) are rejected immediately without member vote.

Airline Name (and livery if applicable):

Link of Airline 1:

What can you offer to that committee:

Any Further Questions:

1 Airlines in Sandbox worlds (S4B/E) are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Airline should also meet SkyRoutes requirements.

In rare cases your choice of committee currently doesn't need people, you would be asked to choose another one.

As part of your application process we might request shared control of your airlines (may not be the one you applied with).

Failure to comply to such request will result in immediate rejection of your application without member vote.

#256904 [READ BEFORE APPLYING] More about SkyRoutes Family

Posted by Mr PAG on 12 December 2017 - 03:51 PM in Applications

m8sVIFR.png

Applications are OPEN

You are advised to read this post in its entirety before applying to understand more about the SkyRoutes operating model which is different from other AE alliances. By applying, you acknowledge the content written on all pinned posts in the 'Applications' subforum and we hold no responsibility for any misunderstandings that could arise due to the content in the posts.

SkyRoutes is proud to be the first alliance in AE to adopt a committee-based operating model, which allows every member of the alliance to have a stake in the alliance's operations regardless of which committee are they in. This ensures optimum participation among members and provides the space for initiatives that would ultimately benefit the AE community to come to fruitation. We have 3 committees and read on to know more about them.

Airline: As part of the airline committee, you would assist fellow members in meeting SkyRoutes airline requirements and to provide necessary assistance to them in their airlines. You would also be part of the team that would help new members understand the game better and to run realistic airlines.

Design: As part of the design committee, you would assist fellow members in the needs of logo/liveries for their airlines. At the same time you could provide advice to fellow members about their logo/liveries and work together to improve on it or even teach them some skills using software that you feel best suits them. You would also be part of the team that assists the alliance in its branding and publicity materials.

Welfare: As part of the welfare committee, you would be part of the team that ensures that concerns and feedbacks of fellow members are bejng heard and necessary action is taken. Besides that, you would organise opportunities (need not be real life;online-based would be better since we are from different parts of the world) for fellow members to know each other more. You would also need to ensure that Forum Posting Guidelines are upheld at all times and ensure that tensions do not occur between fellow AE members regardless if they are from SkyRoutes) and to ensure law and order in our subforums.

#256663 Your Inclusive Guide to the Forum Alliances! (Updated 2018)

Posted by Mr PAG on 11 December 2017 - 04:33 PM in Alliances

Hold on, before we lock this, let's think about something. What if instead of locking this we clean the thread from all unnecessary posts that don't have anything to do with the original post and make comments be screened on this topic. It really is a good topic and could be used for real discussion.

+1
