#292478 My first ever livery attempt! Criticism welcome

Posted by Luft on 14 May 2023 - 02:12 AM in Logo / Livery Requests

Well done for your first try! I'd recommend the following things:

  • It would be good to give a little more breathing room between the titles and the windows - could afford to go down in text size slightly
  • You'll want to smoothen out the curves used to taper the red cheatline up the nose and tail, they're a little disjointed and inconsistent
  • Personally, I wouldn't use such a detailed, realistic crown on the tail just relative to the rest of the pretty plain livery, but that's entirely up to the artist's discretion
  • Also, perhaps put the "BRITISH AIRLINE GROUP" title located above the aircraft in white text, and change the steel blue background to the same darker blue that's used on the actual fuselage
  • Not a huge fan of the blue engines or the white patch on the wing fairing without the cheatline, but again that's totally up to you

Keep designing and you'll find yourself getting better and better :)

#292264 Sold some A310s and MD-11s, but only the MD-11s showed up?

Aircraft tend to pop up on the used market at random times, so it's possible that they're yet to be randomly chosen. Or, it's possible that someone snatched them up super quickly as soon as they were put on the market.

Hello,

Thought I'd throw in an application if GMI's being resurrected:

Sabah Airlines (S1): http://ae31.airline-...e3s1&player=187

Bio: Founded in 1997, Sabah Airlines is a full-service global carrier serving 236 destinations worldwide. Launched by the State of Kuwait as a means of countering the expansive growth of airlines in the region like Qatar Airways and Emirates, Sabah Airlines operates a modern fleet of nearly 200 Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

Let me know if there's any other information you'd like me to provide!

#292062 regional aircraft

this is interesting, and good to know. im curious why it wouldnt make sense on the american route? the demand is similar i think

The numbers work out, but if you're looking for a high level of realism, the market dynamics are fundamentally very different. Most American domestic routes IRL prioritize high frequencies, and widebodies on US domestic flights are typically either transcontinental flights or positioning segments (e.g. UA sometimes running 767s on EWR-IAD so that aircraft can operate EWR-LHR-EWR-IAD-LHR-IAD trips. Contrast this with IRL short-haul routes throughout SE Asia and eastern Asia, where you'll see routes with similar demand operating fewer frequencies and larger-capacity aircraft.

Depends on the location and level of realism you're looking for really - for example, it wouldn't be unheard of to put a bunch of 777s on a route like ICN-NRT, but that wouldn't really make sense on JFK-ATL (about the same distance).

#291857 Who can still use AE

I can still access this site - was slow on Chrome and mobile up until about 48 hours ago, but seems to have returned to normal speed now for me.

#291825 Website Loading/Function Issues

I'm able to get on (very sluggishly) via Microsoft Edge, but no luck through Google Chrome.

Same issue here, also North America. Getting different kinds of error messages depending on the browser and device type, but most of them prompt the downloading of a random file like you mentioned.
