That would be cool! You can already see rankings by country if you click the country flag while in the rankings page. Something like that would be great!

#284281 Requesting help!

I find that you have to put as much money as possible into expanding your fleet at the beginning. You simply can't make money with a one aircraft airline.
Just keep trying new things and eventually you'll figure it out!
Also it's best to try to find places that don't have any competition when you are new.
#284280 Leasing Used Aircraft

BRS is Bristol. I think runway length could be an issue, I've had that with 777s, they need a long runway! Range could also be an issue, I don't think a 777-200 could do BRS-LAX.
Looking at your airlines it looks like you don't have a 777 anymore so I guess it doesn't matter... but for future reference that is why.
#284009 Airlines Operating for other Airlines

I can't remember the proper term but I mean like what US airlines do with their regional carriers. An airline wishing to have flights operated for them would put out contracts, saying I want this many frequencies on this route with this much capacity, and I'll pay this much. The "big" airline would pay for the gate, slots, in flight service and receive the ticket sales. "Small" airline would pay for the crew, aircraft, and fuel, and receive a set amount per month from the "big" airline. This would be a cool way to replicate regional airlines but also wet lease operators and such as well.
#284008 Route Maps for individual aircraft

Agreed, that would be quite useful. It would also be cool if you could select a number of aircraft and see their routes, i.e. see where my 737 fly or see where my CRJs that are more than 10 years old fly. The potential use of that in fleet replacement is enormous!
#284007 International or Domestic?
Posted by GooseSpitte on 10 August 2020 - 06:04 PM in New Players and Questions
I do only short haul usually, because it is simple and you can ensure really good aircraft utilization. For a US airline that means domestic, and maybe international to Canada/Mexico. Still if you're a beginner why not try both just to gain some experience.

#283668 Best Home Country?

-India, this works sometimes, but I have also seen worlds where there are 5+ major Indian carriers. That can be annoying.
-Japan, is very good and there are a huge number of domestic airports that still have relatively high demand.
-Middle East/Arabian Gulf (meaning Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Oman) - each of these countries has one (except UAE which has 2) major airports which work well as a base. Demand to India is also quite good. Note each country can really only sustain one airline so don’t start one if there is already on there.
-Brazil, this is similar to India in that it can sustain multiple airlines so there is a risk of competition, but if you can get it to yourself it can be quite lucrative.
-Singapore, similar to Arabian Gulf benefits from having a large airport. Again can’t really sustain multiple airlines easily. Malaysia and Thailand could also work similarly.
Also if you aren’t seeking to have a major carrier if could be useful to go to some small country an run a small airline. You’ll have no competition most likely.
I wouldn’t recommend going to the US or Europe as they have high competition which can be very frustrating. In the US you can pretty much guarantee you’ll have competition on all major routes late game. Still if you enjoy the challenge you can still be profitable there.

#281276 Wanting to share control of a few airlines
Posted by GooseSpitte on 06 March 2020 - 10:31 AM in Airline Takeover / Shared Control Requests
I currently have quite a few airlines I am running and would like to share control of a few of them as I don’t have enough time to run them all. The carriers I am willing to share control of are:
Eagle Airways (R3), a South African airline
Brazilian Air (O1), a major South American airline
I quite willing to let whoever takes over do pretty much whatever, so long as they keep the airlines going and help them expand!

How long will I need to wait to start turning profit, and should I keep adding routes and aircraft in that time?
