Route maps only work when viewing over http. If you connect over https the maps fail to load.
Simply edit your url and modify the url to http://www.airline-empires.comand the maps will work again
Yeah, I wonder why this website doesn't use https.

Was thinking of going USA after some thought. Looking to start at CLT or BWI, are those good? Haven't played in a while.
CLT is very good, I’ve started several top 10 airlines from there. BWI should be good as well.

Competition doesn’t matter when starting early. Best options are USA and China, but you could also pick any EU country after 2000.

It seems that there’s some glitches going on with the routes page. Clicking “all” doesn’t always show all routes and my iPad sometimes identifies the routes page as malware (never any other page of the site).

It’s actually a simple glitch - you can create an unlimited number of airlines as long as you haven’t selected a starting aircraft and HQ on any of them.

I once bought a large quantity of used 732's that had been delivered past their "end of production", and kept them long enough where I may have equipped some with winglets. If I did, I don't remember any performance difference.

I completely agree. One idea I've had (and may have suggested before) is that every world should be moved up 5-10 years to account for time passing IRL.

I've also found that iPad generally loads maps better. When I still use desktop, clearing the browser cache or trying different browsers can sometimes help.
