Aviaperú and the Boeing 737 MAX

Aviaperú and the Boeing 737 MAX

On 12 April 2021, Aviaperú received the first of 33 ordered Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from Boeing's Renton factory in Washington State after roughly two years of worldwide groundings, and the following day it made its maiden journey from Lima to Cusco as Flight PL737. Over the next two to three years, Aviaperú plans to gradually replace its existing Boeing 737 Next Generation fleet with these aircraft.

About the 737 MAX:

The 737 MAX family is designed to offer the greatest flexibility, reliability and efficiency in the single-aisle market. Every airplane will feature the new Boeing Sky Interior, highlighted by modern sculpted sidewalls and window reveals, LED lighting that enhances the sense of spaciousness and larger pivoting overhead storage bins.

Pretty good. Those titles look like they need a little warping to look convincing, though. Also, what is a Peruvian jet doing with an American registration? It should have a registration of OB-XXXX (The x's being numbers).

    Nice

Insurance costs for aircraft tend to be higher in several Latin American countries like Peru, and taxes may play a role here, too. This could also explain why the Peruvian subsidiary of LATAM has its aircraft registered in Chile.
