The 747s

The 747s

In 1972, South African Airlines updated their livery, and the first applications were on it's flagship 747 fleet. The 747-200 and 747SP enabled SAA to reach far flung destinations such as Sydney and New York City.

These aircraft served until 1986, when they were replaced by 747-300 aircraft. The 747SP fleet was leased to various airlines around Africa, and eventually bought back and scrapped.
