Northern Boeing 747-100 1970-1987

In 1970 Northern took delivery of the fith 747-100 jetliner produced at Boeing. The first plane 'Spirit of the North" started her life in Chicago operating the first Northern 747 flight form Chicago through San Fransisco to Tokyo. The Northern 747 was one of the most luxurious with a full bar in the upper deck. Full length movies in all classes and large comfortable seats. Northern retired their 747 in 1995 with N005NO the last of the retired jets flying back to Chicago form her base in Tokyo where she was donated to a aviation museum where she still resides. The planes name continues onto a 747-400 christened "Spirit of the North II"
