In 1990 East Texan Regional was contracted by Aerostar to provide regional service from Dallas-Fort Worth airport. ETR had previously operated ATR-42/72, DC-9, DHC-8-100, and EMB-120 aircraft on small routes. When Aerostar began its contracting, ETR would stop operating their DC-9s and instead operated Aerostar-owned CRJ aircraft. ETR would grow a fleet and eventually flew B1900, CRJ-200, DHC-8-100, DHC-8-200, and EMB-120 for Aerostar in the 90s. ETR operated ATRs privately until 2012 and DC-9s until 1991.
