China-Taiwan Flights

28 January 2016 - 02:14 AM

Prohibition on China-Taiwan Flights should be lifted on December 15, 2008 as a result of the Three Links agreement between China and Taiwan that included a lift on the ban of direct and non-stop flights between them. I'm kind of surprised that this hasn't been implemented yet, as I'd imagine the coding for this isn't that difficult.

Tristar or DC-10

24 January 2016 - 11:39 PM

For me, I prefer the Tristar substantially over the DC-10. The Tristar is much more fuel efficient, especially on the intercontinental versions (DC-10-30 and L-1011-250). Also, the Tristar looks a lot better than the DC-10, at least for me. The Lockheed Engineers did a great job making the third engine look flush and sleek with the rest of the aircraft. The Douglas Engineers just look like they got the fuselage, then stuck a third engine on top of that and then a tail on top of that. What do you guys prefer?

Question about adjusted range with winglets

In aircraft with winglets, is their new range value the max range or max range at max payload?

Thanks

If you could bring back any aircraft manufacture back into the commercial aircraft busi...

The title says it all.

For me it would probably be Lockheed (obvious reasons, technologically advanced aircraft for their times, simply the best) but since I feel a lot of people would pick that, I'm going to go ahead and pick Saab, because they made wonderfully efficient turboprops that I believe that could've competed with ATRs and Bombardier Dash-8s. Their turboprops were relatively long range (1,300-1,500 miles) unlike the earlier ATRs and Dash-7s and early Dash-8s, which had about half the range of the Saabs with very similar fuel consumption. Also I cannot emphasize how nice the Saabs looked. They were (in my opinion) very smooth and sleek aside from the ugly undercarriages that this and the ATRs have. But never mind that they still look very nice. Those are my reasons for wanting to bringing back Saab. Which manufacture would you like to bring back? Let me know below.

Boeing 707 OR DC-8 *IN AE*

18 August 2015 - 03:59 AM

Greetings AE community! I'm not really sure which of the early jet aircraft to order, the Boeing 707 or the DC-8. When I look at their raw stats in game, they are almost the same. Is there anything that I'm missing? Which do you prefer and why? Anything would be helpful for this AE beginner noob. Thanks!
